not unless u count Roseland, and thats only for special events once in awhile not regular
well if SPACE does come to NYC, i also hope the club's a bit more selective about who they let into the club, as well as who they hire as bouncers/mgmt. then again im also in favor of no dress code etc (which most likely WONT happen but we can all hope right?). |

the name of Space alone would keep it afloat..
it seems from what you all are saying is that NYC lacks a big room club now..
Space is a name alone that would manage well, even with LP's antics and the BS he pulls in Miami... its purely business to him, he has no passion or heart, only $$ signs... he'll make it work...

best venue in the city hands down.
I would be very happy if that place re-opened as an EDM venue, but it would piss me off to no end if most of the club was sectioned off as VIP, which I could see happening. |

If they could open up anything at ALL like exit was in like 2000, 2001, I'd wet myself. |

You watch bro....he's a smart guy. The he pulls in Miami might not fly as far in NYC but the guy has been around forever and Space has outlasted every club in Miami pretty much. They put Twilo out of business in less than a year and that place was sick! The only reason Pacha is keeping it's head above water is because it's the only big room in NY right now and believe me if there was competition they would not be making enough money to pay their way out of all the trouble they have been getting into. |
Bro, I understand what you are saying. But More specifically what I mean is that he is not going to Buy or Win-Over the NYPD. When Giuliani was mayor, he specifically Created club task forces to shutdown place because of drugs and . They were sucessful in closing down TWILO, TUNNEL, LIMELIGHT, and SOUND FACTORY(even closed them after they were renamed) just to name a few. Every one of those clubs I just mentioned are legendary to NYC, maybe even more so than SPACE to Miami.
Louis is a smart business owner. But he WILL have his hands full here in NYC. I know Pacha has going on inside of it, but it's only a matter of time til it gets shut down too. |

| space pull some stunts in Miami that just wont fly here, during wmc, with that being said if they did somehow pull off an afterhours cabana/terrace outside like Bed tried to be for spirit and were succesful taht would be a big plus for the club scene here in NYC |

first off what up Brent! Glad to see you are coming home and done with the army.
LP is the ONLY club owner in Miami, that HAS heart and actually cares about edm. He is the only one spending the money to fight the condo ******s so we can have Space every weekend till the afternoon hours. At the same time he is a smart guy, been in the business forever and knows what works and doesn't. Ffs if he wasn't about money, we wouldn't have space, since its the money that keeps everything in this world going. LP fights the fight for us every day, and puts his ass on the line every week to keep it going, so what if he makes a buck, again that is the only way to live, i know i wouldn't work for free. Thing is the bias on these boards is that he doesn't bring trance acts, well truth be told, they don't make money! Only PvD and he still is in a non compete contract with Space and always will be.
If it comes to NY, then you all will be happy, people complain all day long, i don't get it, the place is slammed packed every weekend, and he went to jail in March cause the cops tried to tell him to turn down the music, he told them to off. Every other club that night turned down the music except Space. So when he got arrested, the people who were in charge closed the terrace, LP got out of jail at 8 am, went back to Space, and said wtf is going on, turn this music up, and the terrace went till 3 pm that day. He is the only one who ha the balls to step up for what he believes in, which is a place for good music to be played.
You all will be very lucky if he brings the enterprise to NY, and i wouldn't worry about Pacha, EM is his boy, im sure they will work something out.
Space has stood the test of time, 7 years last month, still packing in thousands of people week in and week out. He is an Icon in the scene and anyone who doesn't see this is blindly mistaken. |
