and i say again just so u wont miss the point again, i do know what minimal is, very good actualy, and i even like some minimal, but i dont like what it does to people, djs, arrangeurs etc. it should be underground, not what u hear on every club?

i consider minimal a sub-genre under techno/house

and yes i do talk about commercial minimal, not the minimal from 1960 or what you guys sayd, thats not the minimal bugging me.

o rly?

You prove my point, thanks. The stuff you listen to on beatport isn't really minimal to let you know.
Mr Game+Watch
There are a few individual tracks I like (stuff from Villalobos, Trentemoller, Gabriel Ananda), but a lot of minimal sets I've heard seem to have WAAAAAY too much filler in them and barely any progression, so I dunno, I'm not sold on the genre yet. A lot of songs sound like water trickling through a drainage pipe.

And yeah it seems like this stuff is everywhere nowadays, I miss the good ol' days of progressive.

Todays Minimal Techno/House (which IMO is purely non-sense trash of the lowest quality and possibly represents the fall of EDM)which is a real musical (sub-)genre has obviously nothing to do with Philip Glass, John Adams, Steve Reich, visual minimalism or whatsoever...

Oh and also, Trentemoller isnt minimal. He does dub tracks, electro, but no minimal

Minimalist music was the soundtrack to the modern era. Music for 707s, brutalist apartments, and classy, glassy lounges full of slinky Danish furniture.

Today's "minimal techno" is a pretentious, self-important mask for emotional and creative bankruptcy. Perhaps exhaustion. I suppose this also reflects the times.

I love it that all of you will never understand minimal. Don't worry about it, it's too advance for you. Now go slit your wrists to some trance.
