How in the world could you possibly infer that from my post?

In fact, I think plenty of murderers are doing their job by thinning out the herd.

Where in there do I say "Hitler was a better person than Michael Vick"?

:conf:

Edit: In order for me to defend a statement, you need to legitimately attack it.

As such, I have nothing to defend.

First of all, please tell me you're specific definition of murder? Is it any killing that's against the law? Is it violent killing? And please don't link me to a dictionary.com entry and say "This is what Murder is," if that were the case not only would we not require our multi-trillion dollar justice system, but Law & Order wouldn't be entertaining either.

Beyond that I could take any number of approaches towards defending the assertion that the death of humans is oftentimes less tragic (or more beneficial) than the death of an animal who can't defend itself. Utilitarian approach? Simple, humans cause exponentially more suffering than companion animals, so if it's humans versus animals, humans go. Tough luck.

The point isn't to develop some highly specific and ridiculous ethical system in which animals are somehow always more valuable than humans, but that at the end of the day you'll find loads of people who'll tell you there are too many of us, but very few who will tell you there are simply too many dogs running around (in a global sense) and that getting rid of them would benefit us all greatly.

;)

my definition of murder is the premeditated killing of a human being by another human being against his/her will.

That goes beyond the scope of my argument. I'm specifically focusing on murder. I will say that if it comes down between the humans v. animals. The animals go simply because human life is worth much, much more than the animals. I'll leave it at that.

Well, I'll just say that not everyone believes what you do, and so it's fine if that's what you believe, but it's hardly universal.

Linsday Lohan > Justice System Protecting Celebrities > Michael Vick.
