How to calm down...?

Please, give me tips on how to calm down when you had a hard day and felt a lot of mental/emotional pressure and afterwards you can't deal with it in an ordinary way, like listening to music and relaxing... I feel right now like I'm about to explode into a million pieces and at the same time I have tight stomach and I feel like I wanna throw up. I HATE talking about my problems online esp. in a forum like this, but I just had a hard day today and I'm going nuts and out of my mind. I literally felt a few minutes like I wanna cease my existence at least for a moment so as not to feel anything. I feel awful, shaky... I feel helpless... I'm sorry to make a nut-case out of myself out here in the public forum and bother you guys, but it just is driving above my mind.... Oh it's so hard if you feel responsible for others' happiness and worrying about them and at the same time really not being able to change anything! :(
(P.S. Please don't ask me to explain anything further, cause I WON'T... I just wanna get tips on how to feel better... thank you for understanding...) :( |

been there and I know what you are feeling
i usually go for a long walk , or go sit by the lake and think
(or smoke a joint, not the solution but short term it can help)
i know solitude usually calms me down , sorry I can't be of more help , but talking can often help too |

yeah, kotsy pretty much nailed it....
watch something funny on tv, while tugging one out, after ripping a bowl is what i'd recommend for like an absolutely gut wrenching day. |

I usually choose one of the below
-watch a mind occupying movie
-meditate
-long ass run that'll leave me too tired to think
-dunk head in cold water
-strangle my teddy bear |

thank you for your kind empathetic response techead...
yeah, I never do drugs and almost never drink (the most I drank was like 3 dL of white wine at one time), but now I feel almost like I'd be good to take something to dumb me out (at least for a while)... not that I'd really do it if I had the chance to, but if I imagine how it would numb me out, it is at least a calming (??) feeling...
thankx anyways...

yeah, that reminded me of how I like to do puzzles sometimes to calm down, cause you have to focus and concentrate and that helps to keep your mind off other things, but I'm afraid right now it just wouldn't help... :( but thanx anyways...
maybe the cold shower will do. I'll probably try that! |
