I wish Armin could go back to the time when he only did his own compilation starting with 001-004 Transparance. They were great and you can clearly hear that he put down loads of efforts in the mixing and not just throwing in the most played tunes atm. |
As someone who still enjoys most of Armin's sets, i COMPLETELY agree with what Rebel9 says here.
Armin/Armada are releasing anything and everything they can possibly think of:sadgreen: |

| listening now. On David West - Morphology, and it's not too bad. I'm glad I'm actually giving this a chance. Nothing mindblowing, but so far it's solid. |

| Boy is vocal trance ever popular these days with the kids. |

| Got the promo today, hopefully it'll be more like the previous 2 Universal Religion releases than his ASOT compilations...I'll post a review when I go through it. |

Just got finished with listening to it. I'm going to stick by my statement of it not being awful. It is absolutely SATURATED with vocal tracks, so be prepared for a bunch of trance tracks trying to be that "one" track with the catchy vocal hook that stands the test of time and fails (the only one getting close is Big Sky). Another new Armin track to close it out that would be nice with a dub, because he once again used that Shivers woman and it ruined a somewhat decent track.
The mixing isn't as good as it was on the first UR, or the second for that matter. None of it's off beat, but there's some definite obvious switches in tracks unlike in 2004. I can smell the cdjs all over this mix.
Worst tune would have to be How Long, those vocals are gash. Second worst would be If You Should Go, once again, vocals. Invincible dances on the annoying vocal line.

| i received it as well today, and to be honest, i didnt like the mixing that much and i cant help skipping some tracks like how long and big sky, which are really awfull imo. I think i wouldnt buy this album if Summer Blush wasnt on it... but now i just have to put it in the collection hehe. |

Big disappointment...what happened to the old "Transparance" and "Universal Religion vol. 1" days? :(
I thought he released this as a way to get back to that old sound he had circa 2002-2003, but boy was I wrong. Same ASOT , different name. |
