Ive never had more than 1GB of RAM in my compy... until a year ago or so, only ever had 512.

So, should 2GB be good and sufficient yall think? 3GB would be kinda overkill for what I need?

I reserved it at my Waterloo location, but who the fack knows when they will be getting stock, fack! Any ideas when??

Future Shop had it, but it went out of stock super fast. They apparently have stock coming in tomorrow for it, because I see pre orders on the site, but I dunno.

lol I get that question atleast 20 times a day, we got a couple in our store, the waterloo location should be getting some in either today or tomorrow call them about it, and if you see a cute cashier name Teresa tell her I said hi ;) lol why don't you wait for the new ATi 3870? We're the only store in Canada that will have it for a while :D

Right now 2 gigs of memory is ideal, and the prices for DDR2 memory is dirt cheap right now, like $25 for a gig.

The drivers for the DVD burner are more than likely allready there in the Windows XP image, thus to install the burner, you're looking at only a couple of kilobytes of space, which is effectively nothing, so install away.

As for burning DVD's, you can do as Cosmic says, but you mentioned that you allready have a secondary partition? Just store data there.

I did all those things, did a defrag, freed up 30GB by dropping all content onto the external, installed more memory but the DVD disk freezes up when loaded. No compu 'tang for me :(

And, further

128MB ATI Radeon X1300 OR
128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS ???

Would either of those get me through Guild Wars fine? :)

or should I need to get a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT-DDR3 ?

not too sure what the exact requirements are but between the x1300 and the 8300, I'd go with the 8300 because of the DX10 compatibility.

I've always liked Nvidia, and I don't think ATI has anything on them in terms of design, GPU technology, and bang for your buck.

The 8800GT beats out ATIs new 3870 card in every benchmark test that I've seen so far. On paper it looks like ATIs new card beats out Nvidias, but according to the benchmark tests, it doesn't at all. I'd much rather get the Geforce 8800GT that's for sure.
