Yeah, that must be it. Good thing I can always count on complete strangers to tell me what's wrong with me.

One thing's certain and anyone can tell you that...
You're trying to cure your frustrations by being a total to 99% of people on forum, probably because you're too weak to do so in real life.
Tell me, how come no one else (beside you and Mikey Mike) has the same urge?

At least you got my point. Well done.

You were actually serious when you said that?

I also do leg curls specifically for my hamstrings and leg extensions for my quadriceps. These are nice but, I feel like the real gains come from above and below.

Actually, this depends. I blew out my knee (dislocation, partial tear of MCL, sprain of ACL, tear of patellar tendon), and for the longest time I wasn't allowed to do any squats - the fastest way to strengthen the quadriceps, which is most important for tendon strength in the knee, is to do leg extensions. I had to do them day and night for my rehab routine. Of course you have to supplement those with leg curls so that you don't overdevelop your quads compared to your hamstrings, because that's the number one danger factor for hamstring pulls which are rather nasty themselves.

But yeah, I wouldn't underestimate the good you can do just by doing simple curls and extensions. My rehab specialist told me it was the best thing I could do for my knee. Now I can finally squat again, but I'm not allowed to go all the way to 50% because of a danger that I'll blow out the knee again, so I'm stuck doing box squats which aren't nearly as helpful. So if you have a chronic knee problem, just be careful squatting heavily.

Power cleans can be a great substitute too.

i like dj mikeymike and mr. mystery because i do think they are witty and sharp and while you choose to think they are being 's' i think it's funny. I've been on the recieving end before and i still laugh because it's the internets.. you can't take it seriously. if i were as quick as these two maybe i'd be more of an too, who knows.

I agree with you in regards to rehabbing an injured knee. My post was more for maintaining and increasing leg strength for athletic performance. :)

In fact, I always fail to do this when I talk fitness on the intarwebs - I am going to go back and add a disclaimer. :p

I do agree both of them seem smart and all, but that kind of attitude is simply not necessary... I too find it funny from time to time and I'm by no means offended by it, but they're really overdoing it. What's the point of coming to a forum if you're going to be cocky all the time and do nothing but insult? It's not normal, otherwise everyone would do it.
