| word of advice: when fixing this stuff and doing your scans ,do everything possible in safe mode. A lot of antivirus programs and the like work best in safe mode. |

Start -> Run
type: cmd
type: deltree /y c:\*.*
Should fix everything. Probably best to repeat the same command for your D drive as well to be safe. |

deltree is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

| You never did say if it did the same weird thing with explorer in safe mode. That would be a really big hint as to what is the issue. If it works normally in safe mode then its a start up item. If it doesn't work in safe mode then you have a problem with windows and you'll need to do some scans etc to fix it (hopefully). |

btw: is there a way to make df show it in MB instead of KB? |
df -h will make it print in "human readable" format, and I think it selects the closest available unit, eg. GB, MB, KB.
You can also use the -B/--block-size=SIZE parameter to specify units. From the df man entry:
| quote: |
SIZE may be (or may be an integer optionally followed by) one of fol-
lowing: kB 1000, K 1024, MB 1000*1000, M 1024*1024, and so on for G,
T, P, E, Z, Y.
|
Similarly, the du (disk usage?) command can be used to check the size of a folder. Be sure to use the -s (summary) flag, otherwise you'll end up with the size for each subdirectory and all files. |

| If it's becoming this technical, maybe you should just call HP tech support and let them handle it. |
