$2999+ For sure.

Especially with that Sasha brand next to it...

I havn't yet touched it, but I've looked at it very close up, and from what I can tell, the build quality and craftsmanship are very good! The frame itself is massive and built to last...and with the internal soundcard, I'm sure it will be pretty pricey, but worth it!

Yea im sure it will be worth it. That thing is one powerful machine by the looks of it, and it looks like its very sturdy.

I wonder what he did with the old one :thepirate

I'm curious: why would a Maven cost an arm and a leg?

Compare it to something like a Xone 92. A Xone is stuffed full of analog circuitry, preamps, filters, sends and recieves... the music is literally being mixed within the Xone.

A Maven is just a midi controller. It sends MIDI signals to Ableton (or whatever), with the assistance of an onboard soundcard. The computer does all the actual mixing. If a Xone 92 costs $1600, I don't see why a Maven should cost any more than that.

That would be the keyword right there. I could definitely see it being priced fairly high, simply because it's "the Maven." And am I the only person who thinks that the controller is a bit overrated? I'd rather build my own to my needs than buy that.

Mainly because there has been a lot of allure and mystique around this thing for years. Plus, this mixer is designed for one very specific task.

no, i agree with you, it's more of money-making-item...it's got the hype to sell well probably.
