Had to make it out for the anniversary as it also marks my 1 year anniversary of going to guvernment as well! (went last year for guv 10 year with my bud only - didnt even know TA existed or anything and that was my best party of all time still to this date!! - SVD BABY)
Got in at 11:30 and it wasn't nearly as busy as I thought it would be. Roaches put on a good opening set, enjoyed getting to listen to their new style since I missed them at the zone last weekend for their 6 hour marathon set! Some good minimal techno going, bit of tech house too.
Did a quick tour of the complex to check out the other rooms - Deadmau5 was putting on a good show - looooove hearing his productions live!! FAXING BERLIN kkkkkk
Loco dice came on for some minimal madnesssssss, I've never got to hear minimal/tech house live yet and had to say the melodics/layers to the music is a blissful mind at times and definately gets your body moving in ways you didnt think were possible! He definately inmpressed me and got me even more hooked into the evil world of minimal :eek:
Coxxxxxxxx time! Haven't had a techno fix in a while and was getting really really excited when a few of my friends told me I was in for a special treat! He not only puts on banging tracks but he's so into it up there, ing jokes watching him groove to the music as he switches tracks or takes a min break LOL. Love the commentary too, always gets the crowd hyped up even more.
At around 3:30 a few of us went to check out tommie sunshine in the drink as I've always wanted to here this man out. Seriously - opening the doors to the drink was like opening a door into a different ing universe....twisted, grimey, hard poudning electroy-breaks is the only way i can desribe the sounds coming out of those speakers! If you weren't ripping up the ing floor you'd be standing there being minded by the tweaked tunes - he's just one of those unique dj's that can only pull off that sort of thing....pure insanity in that room and I loved every second in it. I actually have to give him the set of the night award as it was just THAT GOOD.
Loco dice vs cox was good, definately awesome seeing them back 2 back as that doesnt happen often.
Overall I had a blast, especially after being rammed by prydz the night before I didnt think I could do an all nighter again but what the - dancing > sleeping right????
9/10 for me, definately going in the books as one of my fave parties!! :happy2: :crazy: |

i walked into orange room when i arrived being disappointed i was late for deadmau5, but the crowd was on lock and i was into it in no time.. the doppelwhipper remix and dark beat were my highlights. i watched cedric gervais for a bit, he was pretty good as well, during a breakdown he makes the most intense and serious "i-kill-babies" expression i've ever seen a dj make haha
i went to the drink to see steve aoki crowd surfing, jumping on the glass and , it was pretty intense! i think he was a little too smashed, as he knocked down his laptop causing a good 30 seconds of silence :haha: he was nothing special when he was at TiL the other week (tried to mix in rock, but no one was feeling it), but this time he played some HAAAARD electro that i enjoyed too much.. so i didn't know whether i should have been surprised when i saw half of MSTRKRFT on the decks with him :D
ferry was pretty good each time i went to the koolhaus... early on he was playing some really punchy bassline stuff, then later on he went on to more epic and uplifting tracks... definitely made up for his short skybar set in june. my only complaint is there were SO MANY retards in that room who felt the need to scream the off-key melody or lyrics of whatever he was playing in my ear... or tap my shoulder just to shine a glowstick thing in my face then laugh... jesus.
but like everyone else was saying, carl cox... WOW... like damn this guy is on another level, he never lost the crowd at all... he gets you jumping to some hard techno... then when you need some rest he plays something a little melodic or housey, then BOOM.. a catchy techno bassline gets mixed in and you're bouncing off the wall again.. definitely exceeded my expecations by far and made my night! and his cockney shenanegans on the mic were entertaining to say the least
and yea it was amazing to see how it wasn't very packed at all.. thank circa indeed. and as always good to see so many of you guys out, especially those i hadnt seen for several months :toocool: |
