Excellent sensationalist reporting.
IT IS A WARZONE OUT THERE!!! I would gladly live in a world where all wars are like our clubland.

Looking ahead with current vastly improving technology, all these videofeeds could be indexed, and stored for life. With face recognition tech, it could easily start generating lists of party goers. And use it for whatever political party's in power goals are. Do not underestimate the selfishness and greed of man.
"Are you a good citizen? Then why were you in an area where our records show has widespread drinking, drug abuse, fighting, and prostitution at 4am, 78 times over the past 4 years?
Sureley any decent citizen who is striving to be a lawyer/doctor/insert whatever would find better use of their time"
Call me paranoid, retarded, whatever, but seeing Patriot Act, down south passed into law; countries being INVADED in this day and age to give them 'freedom'; federal government being unable to account for millions; and such, not a lot is being done to built trust.
As for a Political Party with a bad agenda never being elected. I mean look at 1940s Germany, oh I forgot, they live far across the ocean and are ing idiots. People in north america are smart. They know men in power know best, so lets live in a kindergotten type of environment with someone looking after us constantly. |

i really hate the way cbc has turned into canadian themed version of an american news cast and the mentallity it is creating in canada. cameras seem more like a resource to collect evidence to shut the club district down than something use against so called criminals. why not put cameras in real problem areas? because rich people who are pressuring the government to shut down the clubs dont live there. |

Solving the crimes and putting the criminals in jail is not the problem; it's keeping them there that we seem to be unable to do.
The cameras will probably improve police efficiency in that area though, which is a good thing. Better efficiency there means the city can devote more resources to other problem areas - like Jane/Finch or Lawrence Heights. |

I would be 100% for CCTV's over downtown, I've got nothing to hide... i dont care if someones watching me walk down the street, i would rather they watch me and then call 911 if someone tries to rob me rather than not.....
the only people who would be against this sort of thing are people who do things that they dont want others to see...such as beat up and rob people, etc... |

if i am on a public street then i dont expect to have any privacy at all. if i want privacy i will take the hooker behind the nearest dumpster. |
