they should install cameras at kennedy & steeles to prevent chinese people from lying their way out of a car accident.

i agree that hong kong chinese are horrible drivers, however, brown people are ing horrible too. how many times have i been in the passing lane on the highway stuck behind a car going 80km/h and refuses to move out of the way. when i finally have the opportunity to go around the son of a bitch i say to my passenger "must be chinese"... as im passing my friend would say "nope. p**i"

id much rather have cops recording me doing innocent things if it will help catch a thug that stabs/shoots someone.

What if someone wants a drink a little bit afterhours? Like a dj or camera man.:p

im all for this! put cameras in the club especially in the guv because thats where most of the crimes/incidents happen, well that and richmond st. Although putting these cameras in the streets can give criminals some advantage. If one were to hack into the signal and make it look like everything is fine meanwhile a robbery is taking place. To prevent this camera's should record directly to tape and securely locked where nobody can connect or tap into the source. That is the ultimate solution. If they can put wifi in parts of downtown, they can put cameras there too. It would also save money in legal fees when trying to solve a case. I would like to add that I do remember reading in the paper that one city council member suggested we move all the clubbing/entertainment/stripclub/massage parlours onto toronto island... make it one red light district.. the council members totally rejected his idea... i for one agree toronto needs a red light district..

if you think that the guv/koolhaus complex doesnt have cameras then you are sooooooooooooo misinformed. there are enough cameras installed inside and out.

guv has cameras inside and outside? the only ones i've seen are surrounding the main doors, and the drink entrance. What about in the alleyways and the very back near loblaws.. I guess if they had a camera there they could charge soooo many guys with peeing in public, i've seen soo many people urinate when coming to the guv. Thats why is smells sooo bad!

you make a good point! I think if there was cameras w/faceregonition (yes i watch 2much tv) then you can fine that person for urinating in public,, think about how many money it would generate to actually physically clean the streets of toronto.. they stink soo bad!

im pretty sure i saw a camera on that west wall (directly across from loblaws). chasing down guys that piss on my building would be the last of my concerns if i owned a club.

I think its long overdue. We can't stop the stupidity. So why not at least be able to successfully prosecute it.
I understand the sacrifice, but I am willing to lose whatever 'privacy' I think I have on certain busy streets to ensure that criminals are punished.

Although I can see these cameras being labeled a success, then more cameras proposed in other areas and so on.
