A real job..

For three years I worked as a webmaster at a local college. The pay wasn’t good, but it was an extremely relaxed work environment. With me working on the IT department, there were very lax rules about what I could do or not do in my hours. I had practically unlimited days off, a lax schedule for college (i.e. if I had a class at the middle of the day I could just go and take my time and then maybe come back). It was nice.
Now I’m working this job at a call center for certain American ISPs. Gee golly wiz, I feel like an African slave. I get paid by the hour. In order to take a day or a few hours off I have to find someone to cover me (even on emergencies or family situations). Worst of all: NO INTERTUBES AT ALL. There is a lot of pressure for something that in the end is not our fault.
I do get paid more, but is it really worth it? My mood has changed a lot. My work schedule is not the best (12pm to 9pm), and I practically don’t have time for myself. I even stopped college, etc.
I practically feel like it is sucking my blood. |

Welcome to the real world, Marcia.
Last week I worked a combined total of 39 hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, including one 16 hour day. I'm on a salary, not hourly pay either.
happens, deal with it.

Bi-weekly - Like, twice a week? There aren't that many hours in half a week. Even in 5 days. |

I'm personally against that.
Be poor for a while, but do not drop out unless you really don't want to study any longer. |
