I will happily respect anyone's belief. Why? Because it has ZERO to do with mine, and I'm pretty sure mine disagrees with a few folks.
People can believe what they want. I don't give a . I have a sense of humour. I like to laugh, often at other people.
I start to give a when it gets rammed down my throat though, or when some bright spark informs me of the scientific value... of something that isn't science.
I don't know how to put it, properly...
Empirical evidence, or die in a fire :)

PS: Science today is not science enough either to determine most things as more than faith in instrumentation. |

Look, I'm all for belief as I believe in the possibility of a higher power but what I took issue with is you saying that you actively deny the existance of religion or a higher power, yet you believe in the alignment of planets and how they can tell the future based on some manuscript which conveniently cannot be remade or explained...
So you see how that sounds? You're are denying one thing, yet preaching the other when they are both fundamentally based on faith and theories.
Mate, if you're going to categorically deny any sort of possibility of a higher power than you have no business preaching about Astrology and some random dudes mathematical equations. |

| Liquid - here is the part I have a problem with.... you state that you have no belief in god or religion, however, you turn around and claim this particular type of astrology is science. Interestingly, you link an article that states this astrology was bestowed upon an individual as a reward for showing humility toward Vishnu and Lakshmi... two GODS. How can you in one breath claim to have no faith in god or religion then in the next breath pronounce your faith in this "science" that was handed down to man from a god? If you do not believe in any religion you cannot believe in something that claims it's authority in that it's the product of a god. You're being dishonest with yourself here. |

You may read my previous post as an oxymoron statement as I don't have a clue what a god would look like or what it is? I do believe in this astrology/science because it has given consistent evidence atleast statistically. At the same time I don't ponder too much on how this science was derived as its baseless, why? because existence of god is not proven. There is a higher power but none of us is sure what it is and i for one would not like to name it as god.
I personally think god is the name given to a virtual energy we pray so we could all be good human beings and live in a society together. God is a mystery to me at least and I would be happy that there would be no religion at all. |
