I think the issue is more that Annie Liebovitz (the photographer) always uses a historical picture as the inspiration for her shots... and now there are allegations that she used that one. I don't think that makes her a racist, but it sure doesn't make her publication look good.

Jazz are the team to beat this sec. If they don't make it deep in the playoffs this year then ughh for them also.

They better hope they have home court. They aren't so great on the road. |

Make believe the west does not exist for a second!!
Playoff picture
Good
-Celts(Season to cherish)
-Pistons(True experience team getting ready for the playoffs)
Suprisers
-76ers(won 20 last 27 games)too young to make it far unless they do a 93/94 nuggets
-Atlanta(let's not make it 9 in a row)
from wiki
| quote: | | With the Golden State Warriors qualifying for the 2007 NBA Playoffs, the Hawks now have the longest tenure in terms of the most consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance. (Eight in a row, see Active NBA non-playoff appearance streaks |
Sleepers
-Orlando(I don't see a championship caliber team yet??)
-raptors(Decent players, no Championship)
-washington(When will mr scorealot star playing again
Peace to the playoffs
-nets(Vince is no leader like Kidd was to the Nets)
-Indiana, only team if fights to the end but too little too late it seems |

| Pistons look good. One thing that they have had trouble with the last few years is depth. Tonight they sat out 3 starters (Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace and Rip Hamilton) and they went down fast, as expected. At one point they were down by 21. With a team this young to fight back and end up winning the game was remarkable. Can't wait for the playoffs. |

what can i say about the LEastern conference? there's the celtics, the pistons, the lebrons *cough* sorry the cavs, and then there's the field.
out of the field, the wiz, with arenas returning, may try to bring some drama into the playoffs, but i don't think it's going to be enough. orlando number 3 right now only because they had a strong november and december (22-11 before jan 1, 26-17 after). decent, but their roster looks equipped to take down boston and detroit, and the cavs could outhustle them anytime of the week.
the 76ers, raptors, and hawks are up and down. 76ers looks strong the past couple of weeks, and could carry that momentum into april and possibly may. we'll see ......
as for the beast conference, the western conference, we are talking about houston (6 seed) jumping to the 1 seed easily with 1 strong week, due to them being just 2 1/2 games behind. looking at the western conf standings, i can see utah, dallas, and denver being the easy ones eliminated from the playoffs. they all have strong home records, but history shows teams with a solid away record makes it far in the playoffs. houston has a decent road record, but their past road games against .500+ teams have just been horrible. we'll see what happens to them.
after all this drama, it looks like the obvious western conference 2nd round will be hornets, spurs, lakers, and suns. |

when you win 20+ in a row you deserve something :) |

| When healthy, the Wizards could be the best team in the Eastern Conference. They're so damn deep. And they don't give up much in the starting lineup against Boston at all. Of course, they've only had a handful of games all season with their big three core intact. |

| tough loss for the suns today. not a good way to wrap up the season going into the playoffs. if they lose early in the playoffs, it's not because of shaq, or the fact he isn't a run n gun type of guy. it's because barbosa and diaw are wearing the labels "overrated" plastered on their foreheads. |

naaaa the suns are going through a rebuilding process. Instead of going young/cheap route they went for the old lazy/20 million route :wtf: Seems like if anyone in the west lose a game they are out of contention. When the playoffs come it will come down to a team that will 1. let a team beat them four times or 2. make sure those four games will be the hardest of their carrer's. I see lots of good but then I see laziness. I can kind of tell who is who..
East
Good(Celtics, pistons,toronto)
Lazy(orlando washington,philly)
quiet(cleavland, Hope lebron is ready for another nice cup of coffee and 10-20 games non-stop heroism like last year if they make it that far again. Never forget the 4th quarter and OT playoff game against the pistons. That was MJ stauts if you watched!
West
Good(hornets, suns, spurs, utah)
lazy(lakers, houston, golden state, dallas(i.e last year)) |

The Jazz are 16-22 on the road. Color them done in the Playoffs. |

Good: They are 4th in the west overall so that def counts for something to stay on top of things
Bad: What you said if most of those losses are against superior teams(west and few east)teams on the road then I will agree.
Toronto. ok maybe I get a head of myself but chris bosh and a decent team backup(kapono :p ) and they had some playoff exp from last year can't hurt. I guess they will be like the nets. Sleepers.
Orlando is my fav team but are they going to win the championship???? If so then I won't complain but still are they going to win it all. Money does not always = rings(see mark cuban) he can buy 100 point game gordita for the arena but no championships.
lakers: Good but Phil gotta keep everyone in line for the one goal.(Kobe is still MJ for games at a time, not MJ for a season) Too much drama and people hurt make me sick when they win 10 in a row and then ish happens and back to square 1 with ref complaints and tech and whatnot
PS. I have not really care about the hornets at all this season but on paper and everytime I watch highlights I see :eyes: . We will see what the deal is in the playoffs with CP3 and gang because w/o playoff exp they could be a sleeper also. |

Don't get me wrong - I think the Jazz are talented, but they collapse on the road which does not bode well for their playoff chances. And I think the Raptors are tragically over-rated - mostly by folks like John Hollinger at ESPN.com... they beat the mediocre teams in the East, fine, but how do they do against teams with winning records? Or when it's tight in the fourth quarter?
And the Magic are young and make mistakes, but they play hard. I really believe that the Eastern Conference next year is going to go:
1. Washington
2. Orlando
3. Boston
4. Detroit
A changing of the guards is in store as Ray Allen and the entire Pistons team gets another year older and the entire Wizards team gets another year of experience (and health hopefully). |
|
|
| Trancealot |
1. Boston
2. Detroit
3. Orlando
4. Washington
Why: realistically unless
1. Boston losses their big three
2. Detriot gets real crappy
3. Orlando decides to win and look good for the entire season not just the 1st half
4. Washington, not being mean but the bullets had a better shot :stongue: :nervous:
but when arenas comes back(fully) they will have exp. players (jamison and butler but not Garnett and allen type players still)! Great teams have all-star(s) players. Not sub-all stars. |
