It's honestly between LBJ and Kobe right now for MVP.

And I think Kobe edges LBJ. The past couple years, MVP honors have been given to the player who gives his team the best chance to win (i.e. Nash 2 years in a row). In other words the MVP hasn't be given to the best player in the league in all aspects of the game. Kobe... has it all. He's playing the most unselfish basketball, still scoring 28points/gm, etc. LBJ does that for Cleveland too, but look who has the better record. In my opinion Kobe wins the MVP hands down... did you the LAL/Mavs game where he just took over the game in the 4th/OT.

At the beginning of the season he wanted to get traded...then when he realized the potential the Lakers had this season, he gave it his all for the Team.

Kobe definitely has the edge. He's matured into the leader that he should be and is one of the most feared assassins in the game. If MJ was 99% clutch, this guy is 98%.

I'm finally convinced to say that Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all time in the NBA even surpassing Red Auerbach. This season prety much validates it for me.

by that logic, we can definately say that robert horry is 100% feared assassin clutch! robert horry sexxxxyyyyy!!! :wtf:

anyways, if i had to vote for coach of the year right now, i would give it to reggie theus from "Hang Time!". what he's doing at sacramento with a young team like that is pretty remarkable. i see good things with garcia, martin, and mikki moore. they can trade away miller and artest for young talent easily. i am sure miami would love to have artest with wade and marion, especially with miami's #1 pick looming around.

hmmm I watched the show before. Coaching High school games using mostly actors that played bball as a hobby. Sounds like he would do just fine for the knicks. As I see it the hangtime television team would give them hell! I just recall the episode with the mace where she used it on a friend by mistake:p Good ol' Middle/high school tv days.

this month for me...
gold, Houston,boston,lakers
silver, detriot,spurs,orleans,utah
bronze, orlando,phoenix,dallas,cleavland,philly-->emerging

oh re-reading your post how can he get coach of the year?
record last year of sac: 32W 49L, right now project tad more wins than last year by season end w/o playoff. Let's say he gets them to the atlest the 2nd round as being a new coach and all but if does not all bets are off.

Who really deserves it is easy Doc rivers .293 to only an .803 record :haha: Maybe whoever does the trading or aquisition of players should also get whatever nba franchise managament of the year. Polar opposite of the knicks management!! Remember only championships apply to so many teams this season but there will be only one!

i'd bet that kobe and phil really don't care about 'awards' right now. they're trying to win a championship, and for the moment kid kobe is trying not to break his damn spaghetti finger. a lot will be made about what happens this year with all the big trades and hoopla, but however the cookie crumbles, i'm very excited about the lakers FUTURE too. not every team can say that right now...

PORKY YOU SEXXXXXXXY BEAST!!!!

Kobe has always been great lol... just that now he finally has a great teammate again (with a smaller ego than Shaq to contend with)and I guess that makes him more mature?

Im sure a lot of coaches woudve done the same with this current lakers lineup. Phil is a great coach though. Greatest? Ill fax you my answer vern :clown:

Golden State is averaging 110.8 points per game this season. That's pretty damn impressive regardless of how little defense they play.
