It was either 'ML-Overdrive' or 'Samurai', neither where easy to mix... in fact that song made me swear quite a bit trying to squish a sort of latin sounding beat into a mostly 4-4 mix. Ended up running the bastard in on it's synths with the old Oaky track which had a similar chord progression of all things :haha:
Das Ich are well, they just are super-dark and nasty you can't help but love them :p

way to ruin my favourite metallica song....

your mixing seems more like the quick cross fade slam style...is that cause of the music style? i dont see why you couldnt do longer transitions with a lot of these songs?
Lilith
I have no style!
Hell I've only begun playing around with this sort of software mixing stuff since a little before christmas to fill in some spare time, a bit of fun and excuse to drink my ass off in the back room while my partner is off working shifts :p
I dunno, these two sets are just high energy dance stuff, I used to do more ambient things, rolling tracks in together on chord progressions and snares but all these people where telling me it 'wasn't mixing and ya can't dance to that' and then I'd mix up some different genres and people would be telling me 'but that ain't a such-and-such set'... and I'd wander off even more confused.

Basically I'm working this out on my own and haven't had a lot of technical help and it's certainly not serious... oh no! Don't think for a minute it's anything more than just idle fun.

Oh, I'm glad Apoptygma Berzerk took that song and beat it into something good because Metallica are a bunch of prats and I don't like heavy metal :haha:
