It was the only part I remember from Mad Max, some funny blonde boy who gets hit in the head with a boomerang that didn't have proper pants with a bottom :nervous:
the scars will heal one day... |

at least it didn't include London which is an absolute dive and Paris which exists solely to give us fake-disney and the same 4 sights which cost more each time to see :p
my list of top 10 cities to live in, based solely on what i think they may be like, if they're nice sounding names or if i've actually been thar..
1. York (UK) - lots to see, nicer people than most 'important' cities in the UK.
2. Dublin - irish girls accent ftw
3. Copenhagen - a city full of echos :o
4. Valencia - cos barcelona is full of thieving s and madridstas think they're kings.
5. Seville - best climate in europe, and 2 good footy teams
6. Lisbon - Portuguese rock, unless ur a 3 year old girl in the algarve with dodgy parents.
7. Buenos Aries - if greg can live like a king there, imagine what the rest of us could do!
8. stockholm - not just for the syndrome.
9. Adelaide - cos i have family there, and cos sydney & melbourne are full of pretentious arseholes (mostly)
10. Kabul - it's gotta be thriving now the americans & british went in, surely!?
11. (cos kabul prob doesn't count) - Seoul. Koreans seem to enjoy it. |

yeah, its a road and some houses :D
i guess i was being a bit harsh... it's probably more like:
melbourne > brisbane > adelaide > perth > sydney > darwin > canberra > hobart
i think i'd go insane living in canberra. |
anyone would go insane living in canberra.
i'd toss up between sydney and melbourne
sydney weather rocks, beautiful city indeed.
melbourne is slower paced, which is probably why a lot of people consider it more livable.
all other cities i'd visit but wouldn't live in for longer than 6 months, if at all.
the pic they chose for sydney sucks. sifnt harbour or anything else.
i want to live in tokyo :)
vienna is great. i'd choose barcelona over madrid.
ok so the criteria was as follows...
| quote: |
1. the first metric a city had to meet was that it boasted international, long-haul connections combined with a well-managed, thoughtfully designed airport.
2. We then looked at both murder rates and domestic burglaries
3. After that we measured two key civic components: state education and health care.
4. This was followed by two of the most important metrics for better living: hours of sunshine and average temperatures.
5. Next up we looked at communications, connectivity, tolerance and the ease of getting a drink after 01.00.
6. the cost/quality of public transport and taxis, the strength of local media, the availability and range of international print media, access to nature, amount of green space and, finally, key environmental initiatives. |

Yes, get in there with all the other tourists and have 'fun' while you still think it's interesting!
People have different factors they use to rate a city livable.. I agree with this list a lot more than some other list they made where Vancouver was third.. Can't really remember the rest but there were quite a bit of Canadian and US cities. |
I was thinking about Ajax, Sensation White/Black, Dance Valley, Mysteryland, Amsterdam Dance Event, Anne Frank Huis, Escher museum, Rijksmuseum... taking a bike tour, exploring the city, pictures, sight-seeing, music... and other fun activities.
What did you have in mind? ;) |

Where exactly is this place? Looks like it should be near the centre, but haven't seen that place while I was in Helsinki..

When you live here, you don't go to the museums. How often would you go? Btw, Escher museum, didn't know we had that over here? :p
Sensation is cheese. Ajax sucks more than ever.
Take away the yearly dance events, there's not much left.
And taking a bike tour while it's raining is usually not so much fun.
++++ coffeeshops tho :p |

That's the Esplanadi park right next to the market square. |

I see. No wonder I don't recognize that, haven't been to that part of the city. The only time I was close was when I had dinner at restaurant Kappeli (awful food). |
