An even easier solution: Don't eat more calories than your body can make use of in a day. Wow. Incredible . What a magnificent breakthrough!!! Where's my nobel prize?
I love hearing people go on and on about how they just can't lose weight, blah blah blah. Come on people. its simple. content control. /sigh |

The Americans are fatter but Canada is getting worse!
It absolutely sickens me walking ANYWHERE and almost every other person is fat and some are obese!
One thing that bothers me even more is ppl that are very fat but still can't find the right size of clothing and then you can see exactly where that quarter pounder went! lol
It's not hard cooking your own meals. I do it with my bf almost every night (except when there is a special occasion or we're just too busy), and you save $!!! But besides the population being fat, they're also lazy!! |

Canadians and Americans are so fat because we drive everywhere (don't use bikes or walk everywhere like Europe and Asia), too much salt, msg, saturated fats, transfats, too much tv watching, and worse of all, we're always on the internet (most wired countries on the planet).
Get off Facebook, Myspace, MSN, porn and TA you fatties (posted with obvious hypocritical intent) ;) :p

This surprises me, I never saw canada as an obese nation. But, then again, I have never been to all the smaller villages and towns where people "tend" to be larger anyways (thats just an observation, not necessarily a fact....I notice in the states the fattest areas are the redneck areas and slums....probably because of the lower income, it is easier to buy mcDonalds/White Castle $0.49 burgers than buy fresh vegetables, fish, etc.....)
Anyways, just thought I should mention that like a month ago I saw another study that says that England is now the most obese nation. I will have to find it because I dont remember if it meant % wise or what the data was based on. Not sure if any of these studies ar absolute truths. |

not everyone. I walk 40 blks round trip to and from work everyday (10 blks to subway, ten blks off the train to work and those same 20 going back home........) NYC is def awesome for a little extra minor exercise.
(but.....even when I had a car I was always one to take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc on TOP of going to the gym a few days a week.......when you are already predestined to be big via genes, EVERY thing counts......) |

Hahahaha
damn straight man
nothing like a plate of steaming potatoes and schabowe with ogorki kiszone (i hope you can read in Polish) all home made baby! it's the only way to go
PS. I have absolutely NO sympathy for people who are obese. I hear all this talk about "genetic problems" and "hereditary problems" and then I see people who are in wheelchairs because of their weight, stuffing their faces at the Mandarin. Or better still, FAT people eating in their cars in the parking lot of McDonald's. DISGUSTING and wasting tax dollars to help then with their "health problem" which is really just an incapability of controlling their revolting gluttony. GROSS. |

Okay while it is true that some people are extremely fat because of gluttony, you have to understand that some of the people who are obese and over-eat are that way because eating for them is a coping mechanism. I read a study not long ago that proved that eating can be addictive. The gist of it (that i can remember) is that when we eat, we produce dopamine - the neurotransmitter that, among other things, allows us to experience pleasure. The study had found that people who suffer from obesity had defects in the dopaminergic responses to food; which is to say that they needed more food in order to feel "better", much like a drug addict.
That study also found that a lot of those people knew of the health problems they were facing but were unable to stop themselves from eating because, as i said, eating is their way of coping with stress in their lives.
Now i'm not saying everyone is like that, and i'm not saying it's okay because they're addicts. All i'm saying is don't be so quick to judge, not everyone eats just because they're complete gluttons. |
