i went, caught up with some mates i havent seen in months(years for some), listened to some good music, some music, had a boogie with sum overpriced booze and still had a good time
learn to stop being so ing overcritical of a dj's set and kick back relax and ing enjoy yourself
if you're not having a good time, do what eros.au did and leave... why the do you stay somewhere if you're not enjoying yourself

because i went in early to see eddie play a trance set: i wasn't too dissapointed because i thought he would play a housey one... then there was a big wwait till 8:30- i could have left, but what a ing waste of a ticket: so i sat in the dirt, and listened to some ok music...
i was OPTIMISTIC the day would pick up, hence my DISSAPOINTMENT that it didn't.
it's human to have expectations: obviously you didn't know what you were going to see at future, if you didn't feel strongly about it: just like all the muzzas have a great time because they don't know 1 name on the bill: they just go to hang out with friends, or maybe fight and take drugs... wish i was like them...
i was going to see some great musicians play: i expected a good show. simple. i didn't go to hang out with friends (it's an added bonus)-- you'd have to be pretty silly to pay $130 to hang out with friends-- why not sit outside the bowl and have chats? |

a billion people? then that must mean there was about 17 billion people, sorry, i meant NOOBS, who were there and enjoyed the chemical brothers set. because if a billion people complained, thats how much must have loved it judging from the people cheering and singing along during the set. the show was insane, future didn't feed me anything and i would welcome a bitch slap attempt!
but thats ok, because i said everyone that was going to choose schultz over the chems was a n00b so it evens out hehe

IN WHAT EVER PHILBS TALK TO MY ASS COS MY FACE DONT WANA HEAR IT!
:D
Well anyways, ive heard more people complain about the final act in mainstage (Chem brothers), than i have people who said they liked it... in fact only three people so far have mentioned liking the fact they were placed as a close act for main stage..
1. You
2. Some stupid bitch who told me dance music was 6 months ago
3. Some crack whore munted biatch who almost fell of southbank and into the water where her infested demise would have lay, had she have taken the other fkn half of her flippppppaaaaaa :whip: |

wish i was vman friend: wonder what he'd call me... :haha:
think philbs was talking bout them as an act, not them as a close act anyways... |

I have much love in my heart
Chemical brothers as a group, as an act and as part of our youth are an amazing duo and im happy to say im a fan
However, im also a fan of tool, fear factory and other metal ... but even they have a time and a place... and that is in a concert
Chemical brothers would be better to see as an act, rather than a close set at a festival which was this year heavily influenced by progressive, techno and electro house... chemical brothers do not fit that equation because they are so unique
and what about all of the 18-19 year olds at future... when block rockin beats and setting sun came out, they would have been 6 years old!!! It makes me angrryyyyyyyyyy
Last year Ferry did a ripper of a closing set... it made alot of peoples day, and it was like 20 Fity Billion FOusandz times more energetic that Chemical Brothers were... WHen i left FMF 07, i was so pumped, the set left me with energy and happiness
This set... left me a little dissapointed... it lacked energy, the crowd is so fkn fake, everyone sat there pretending to like it, i couldnt handle it i had to leave... i went home saying, well it was good when Digweed came out..
Come on, a closing act should be of epic proportions... EPIC
Ferry = Epic
Halliwell = Epic
Eric Morillo = Epic
David Guetta = Epic
Daft Punk = Epic
Chemical Brothers = Too flat to close |

i'm pretty sure i mentioned i wanted to see them on their own at their concert but didnt get tickets so had to go to future :p
where were you when they were on?? i was down the front and it did not lack energy, the crowd was not fake as they were going off and the people around me at least were not pretending to like it. i already said the way they finished was kinda crap so in that respect perhaps it was not the best close. but remember all the sound problems at good vibrations, read the thread on itm, they may have had to finish like that cause of sound issues or something. also you already mentioned the lineup, a few people here and itm have been saying similar kinda things so maybe they didnt really fit like that as well. just read all the bitching about halliwell! so maybe like egos said as a close it perhaps wasn't the best but as an act at a show i think they were mad :D
i'd never seen them before and had a mad time. so even though there were a couple of things that could have been a bit better ie hearing block rocking beats and playing longer hehe i was happy with their performance :) |

although i enjoyed their set i agree that they would have been MUCH better at their own show.
the only reason i went to fmf was cos i missed out on tix to their main show so im def not complaining about getting a second chance to see them :) |

I don't quite get your point here?
Because some people are young they are not allowed to appreciate some classic tunes? :conf:

I saw some EPA guy telling the sound tech to turn it down but he told him to beat it haha. Though I'm guessing that couldn't have ended well... |

1: you can leave and come back - they DO offer pass-outs... perhaps you and your mates who were having such a time could've ducked over to a cafe on st kilda road for a coffee and feel optimistic while escaping sound quality and dj's who can't dj
2: you know god damned well that there are gonna be muzzas at every fkn event - if you dont know this by now then you shouldnt bother blurting your bull on internet forums to people who do know this
3: yes it is human to have expectations - i came to an event expecting to have a good time and i did. chem brothers played a nice set, the visuals for the arena were fairly well made...
oh and by the way: you paid $130 to see eddie halliwell expecting a house set. then you went to see chemical brothers instead of marcus schultz... so do you not like trance or something? |
