|
my video footage of hey boy hey girl shows quite a lot of ppl who were fair fkn energetic
although i do agree that chemical brothers are perhaps better suited to an event such as Big Day Out -- after remembering how crushed i got at sidney myer music bowl during armin's set in summadayze '05 - i enjoyed having more room to move during chem bros tbh |

1: you can leave and come back - they DO offer pass-outs... perhaps you and your mates who were having such a time could've ducked over to a cafe on st kilda road for a coffee and feel optimistic while escaping sound quality and dj's who can't dj
2: you know god damned well that there are gonna be muzzas at every fkn event - if you dont know this by now then you shouldnt bother blurting your bull on internet forums to people who do know this
3: yes it is human to have expectations - i came to an event expecting to have a good time and i did. chem brothers played a nice set, the visuals for the arena were fairly well made...
oh and by the way: you paid $130 to see eddie halliwell expecting a house set. then you went to see chemical brothers instead of marcus schultz... so do you not like trance or something? |
i thout eddie might play a house set, but as most people who i spoke to assured me he'd play what he always played (a trance set), i was dissapointed-- and i saw markus shulz, not chemical brothers- was a great set :)
as i said, i know i could have left and come back, but I was expecting the day to pick up: it would have been a waste of money to miss out on the names i'd payed to see (digweed & vath etc): plus, i'm a fan of digweed's sets, so i was again expecting a great set from a great Dj...
I believe my point is very simple, and it has been supported by others: i was expecting something better than what was delievered; and with ticket prices that high, it's not unreasonable for me to be upset if the goods aren't delivered...
i don't complain about hardware/killrockstar events :)
and i suppose muzzas remain a burning issue when they're putting people at risk of physical injury. good to know you can put things out of your mind, but i suppose i can't... |

No Pass Outs until 4pm :(
We should have all gymnasiums in the Western suburbs closed down. Maybe we could stand out the front protesting with plastic muzza's stapled to a sandwich board??
I think you really need to be up for the festival vibe or else you will always be disappointed. It can fall flat very easily. I think thats because of the high expectation.
HOW GOOD WAS STEVE MAY!! |

what a crap event..seriously :(
I know it has nothing to do with Future but the sound at their recent events at Myer Music Bowl has been nothing short of terrible. I read a thing in The Age about neighbours of the venue complaining so it looks like they have won.
Future really needs to find a new venue for this sort of thing i think. I love the bowl and have a lot of great memories there but there really is no point having events at a venue where any side stages are like listening to music on a home stereo.
I thought Digweed and Vath were actually quite average. Saw Diggers at Q-bar and was looking forward to his set here but it was just way to flat.
I'm sorry but minimal just doesn't belong on a main stage at a festival like this in the middle to late part of the day.. I love it as a genre but it belongs in a dark, intimate environment not main stage at FMF. Vath (who i have loved since i started partying all those years ago)bored the brains out of me so bad that we left.
Future last year was my highlight of the year and i was so looking forward to this one but this year's was the event i have enjoyed least of all the events i have been to. |

this thread has turned to e
it must be ended
lol
T-soma... let me explain my comment...a group of friends, who happen to be younger (18-19), did not know the likes of chemical from the early days... this is because no 6 year old will go to Brashes (back then) and request Exit Planet Dust or Dig your own hole... These kids were still listening to Chip Munks christmas albums and the wiggles if they were even around back then.
All of a sudden future puts up the lineup for FMF and they are all like OMFG JIZZFEST its the Chemical Brothers !!! I wasnt even matured enough to know what electronic music is when they hit it big but who cares everyone else is doing it, yeaaaa lets go to FMF and pretend to know who these guys are...
No wonder everyone is complaining about how average FMF was... Its because the die hards went to see Chemical in concert, and the only ones who liked them at FMF were the ones who missed out on their concert.
Just because people drop pills at go nuts at events doesnt mean they actually like the music... its most likely the drugs talking

FMF this year wasnt too bad, i had a fun time, however it was more about the friends i was with then us going to see 'professional music spinners'. thought diggers played some solid tunes, however i do have to say that Markus was the highlight for me... i wasnt gaga like i have been about markus previously, however he smashed it out and dropping VDM - Fly Away (pity it was a remake) and then having the fireworks in the background was a *tear/gurn/wow* moment....
had fun, probably at the end of my festival career, and must say i had more fun the year before, but that couldve been the fact i consumed two pebbles right before nick warren thx to a bald headed TA's text msg. ... |
