There is no such thing as how late is 2 late...You have to be there on time when you are supposed to be there...LOL It's not high school or univesrity anymore. I mean a real job means you have to be responsible and be there on time.

Ya, I am a prude, so stfu....bahahha ;P

I got that part already, reason why I didn't really ask "What should I do?". However, I was surprised because here in Brazil people are not that strict with time, specially if you do get your job done (which I do)... oh, well, seems to be common abroad though.

As for moving up, it's really really not the case.

Erm... I don't think I want to try my luck after that :p

The reason why I was surprised, actually, is because it took them 7 months to say there was no 10 minute rule (which I took for granted), and that's how it used to be in my previous work environments (except when I worked as a teacher, for obvious reasons). And, the first time I got there 5 minutes late, I asked my workmate and she told me I could chill... which I did.

Nothing gets my back up more than members of staff strolling in late. Not being somewhere when you are supposed to be is disrespectful and rude. Anyone in my team that decides to waltz in late will be found making up the time at the end of the day. Cocks.

Which is something I agree with...

Even if there is a "10 minute rule," what you're saying is "I'm here to do the bare minimum required for my job."

There really is no excuse for being late, extreme circumstances permitting. It just wreaks of laziness, crap motivation and poor organisational skills - The level of skill that I wouldn't want in my work force.

hmm... I had never really thought about it that way. I'm going to ponder about it, because I actually do like my job, trying to do my best there, effort wise.

edit: Now that Mikey said that, I guess I don't really see that as a proper job... could be that.

agreed about general tardiness, though i get a lot of attitude from coworkers who aren't on flex/core hours. sure, sometimes i don't get to work until 10am, but the majority of them aren't at the office to see me leave at 8pm, either. :o

I always go in around 10 or 10:30 too. If I leave to get there "on time" I'll spend an hour and a half in traffic, but if I wait until later, it takes less than half that time. I can do much of my work from home anyway, and I'm always working before I physically go to work. So it boils down to almost an extra hour of productivity accomplished just by going in late.

If anyone wants to bitch about that, they apparently don't have the stones to do it to my face, which is probably a good idea, since I won't put up with that kind of foolishness.

If your on time your late. Always show up at least 15 min prior. Punctuality my friend, punctuality.

I'm always early for everything. I HATE being late for . That's why people count on me.:)
