I always go in around 10 or 10:30 too. If I leave to get there "on time" I'll spend an hour and a half in traffic, but if I wait until later, it takes less than half that time. I can do much of my work from home anyway, and I'm always working before I physically go to work. So it boils down to almost an extra hour of productivity accomplished just by going in late.
If anyone wants to bitch about that, they apparently don't have the stones to do it to my face, which is probably a good idea, since I won't put up with that kind of foolishness. |
or you could get there at 5:30 or 6am, that spells tons of extra productivity hours :gsmile: |

You can tell who has to deal with traffic on a daily basis and who doesn't. I'm sorry that I'm 15 mins late, but someone decided to talk on their cell phone and crashed into 3 other cars. Again.
A 15 mile commute should not take an hour and a half one day, 45 mins the next, then over an hour the following day. There's absolutely no way to plan around it. |

+1
I take the bus.
They don't mind me arriving between 9-10 as long as I make up for it, which I do, and as long as I get work done. |

if i'm running more than 5 minutes late, i always call my boss to let him know. it's not a big deal since we're hourly and our timesheets are filled out in tenths of an hour (say if i get here at 9:13, i have to write 9.2 on my timesheet) so i always make up the time by staying late.
i'm usually never late for anything else. i just hate mornings. :( |

| At least most of you have somewhat 'regular' schedules. I work at a different time every day, sometimes as early as 6a or as late as 3p. |

Me too! It makes it tough to plan around traffic. People think it's great that my schedule is different all the time. Pfft. It just means I have to plan that much more time into my travel. Particularly because I travel some place different every time I leave my office. And always always always into congested areas. Pretty much any place you can find a Best Buy, Lowes, Depot, Sears that's where I drive, always in some stupid congested market.
Well dammit now I'm all fired up. |

| This reminds me - I totally forgot to go to work today. Should I go ahead and go in now? I've only had 4 or 5 beer. |
