if you thought transformers was bad, DONT see spiderman 3
i stopped watching after about 15 minutes cause i couldn't take it, and according to people that liked and disliked it, it only got worse from there

Sunshine is an excellent movie!

No way, worst movie of the year imo, dull as dishwater, unimpressive special effects, and one of the lamest endings ever.

It's the only movie I've ever seen in the cinema and wanted a refund for.

Really weak, and the Futurama one is only marginally better :(

My favs from the year:

Ratatouille
Stardust

Still got loads on my 'to watch' list, just trying to find the time :(

I got to thinking about this today...

If you were the Academy, what would you nominate?

Eastern Promises
The Painted Veil
No Country for Old Men

Aaron Sorkin has a movie coming out (Charlie Wilson's War) that might be a good nomination. And there's a couple that Ive heard good things about but haven't seen...

And what about the Kite Runner? Can they nominate a film that was never released?

I could have done with a little less gore... however... Eastern Promises was SO much worse about it. I just think its unnecessary. We know whats happening, do you have to SHOW us whats happening?

Just saw this yesterday. Wow. I have never seen a movie that was so beautifully put together. The Cohen brothers put together a masterpiece.

There is so much I want to say about the movie... but I wont until you (or others) see it.

Big thumbs up on this.

i finally found the chance to sit down, hit a theater, and watch this film, because everyone i knew were telling me to watch this film. simply awing i have to say. Javier Bardem(the villian of the movie) "Sugar" (people who watched the movie would understand that. lol) stole the movie imo. other than that, if you take away the guts, guns, and gore, which is the main focal point of the whole movie, i still would think this is a good movie. i recommend this movie.

anyone read the book? does the movie do any justice to the book?

also another nomincation from me is Ratatouille. i loved the movie so much, i became a kid, and bought the dvd a couple of weeks ago. :(
MR STROKE
American Gangster
Juno
Zodiac
300
No counrty for old men

It's really hard to find any good movies in 2007 at all.
The only semi-decent films I saw this year have been
- Inland Empire
- 1408 (haven't seen The Mist yet, that one could qualify, too)
- Eastern Promises

When I got Pan's Labyrinth of Hollywood Video, the guy at the counter said "just to let you know, this movie is subtitled, you sure you want it?"
I said "yeah, man. it's on the WARNING sticker on the box"
"ok cool, cus a lot of people came back wanting refunds because they could't read the WARNING sticker or the subtitles"

WARNING: REQUIRES READING

You can't be serious. People indeed are incredibly stupid.
Though it's the same thing over here, everyone want's to see dubbed movies, as if people were incapable of reading subtitles. I actually prefer subtitles over dubbing, I mean seriously, how can you say Jack Nicholson is such a great actor if you haven't even heard him speak a single word?

Stardust was REALLY good. More enjoyable than almost everything I saw this year :)

Acton
sunshine
transformers
two girls one cup
pans labyrinth (i only saw it this year, so im sticking it in my list)
the fountain (again, maybe older than 2007, but watched it begining if the year, fantastic film)
Meat187
If Pan's Labyrinth and The Fountain qualify as 2007 then I'll add them to my list. Same goes for Stranger than fiction and The Prestige.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Black Sheep. It was fun and mildly entertaining, but certainly not a "good" movie.
