And yes, Children of Men is amazing. One shot action sequences ftw.

Pans was nominated for an Oscar last year.... so yes, I am a naysayer...

When I got Pan's Labyrinth of Hollywood Video, the guy at the counter said "just to let you know, this movie is subtitled, you sure you want it?"
I said "yeah, man. it's on the WARNING sticker on the box"
"ok cool, cus a lot of people came back wanting refunds because they could't read the WARNING sticker or the subtitles"

The first 4 definitely. What's the matter, mommy never told you people think differently??

Aw whats the matter, no one ever told you that you have terrible taste in movies?

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that transformers and 300 win absolutely nothing, as they were both ing terrible. Ocean's 13 was chuckleworthy and entertaining, but i don't think good enough for any awards. Rattatouille was ing amazing, and the bourne ultimatum was pretty good, definitely the best action movie of the year imo.

tl;dr, transformers and the 300 sucks, and will win lots of awards; i will be angry.

Although if they could be nominated again this year that would be great. It was an awesome movie. :)

FYI the academy does not use the canadian release date for its entries.

I actually didn't even read the first post properly until afterwards, I just thought we were talking about great movies we saw this year, not only those that were Oscar-worthy. And seeing as how Bourne Ultimatum was the only movie I saw that came out this year and was worthy of anything, I'll throw my support behind that.

Just out of curiosity, how did people feel about The Number 23? It didn't really do much for me, but some of my friends loved it.

I went to go see Pan's Labyrinth in the theaters and, I swear, when it came on and people realized it was subtitled about 10 people got up and walked out. That really is a shame...
