| i just thought of something - a gift certif. to a funky home decor store would be great this year, for a couple hundred $ :clown: |

Honestly, just get me a card. Christmas/holiday gifts are a hollow gesture anyway since they come with a reciprocal expectation (i.e. guilt). Which means that I've effectively paid $500 of my own money for that PS3, which I consider to be a total waste.
Sometimes people are able to provide some service (furniture assembly / home renovations have been a big one for me this year), and that's good too. Some people take a group of friends out for a nice meal or drinks, which is also a nice gesture, and has the added benefit of being able to do the majority of your "Christmas shopping" within the span of a few hours.
Everything else pretty much sucks, by virtue of the fact that I'd either buy it for myself, in which case I already have it, or wouldn't, in which case it ultimately ends up being a waste of my money.
Yeah, I know, bah humbug and all that crap, but does nobody realize that the only people who actually benefit from this nonsense, even in the most obscure emotional/metaphysical sense, are the retailers and tax collectors? |

I just want some friggin socks lol
You can never have too many. Hated them when I was a kid, now they are always good haha
On another note, I love reading, so books are always good :) |
Same here :)
I have socks, but on these cold winter days, it'd be cool *pun* to have many more socks, so that I can replace my wet cold ones with fresh new ones when I come back home... so that I can always keep my feet warm and I don't have to do the laundry for a whole month ;)
And on the same note... I'd like to get some cool socks - like those patterned ones which have pictures of cats or elks and santa and things like that. Also, those super cozy ones that feel soft to the touch and fluffy on the outside, and are super warm on the inside... I have one pair, but am afraid to put it into the washing machine with the regular hot/cold water cycle, in the fear that they will get damaged. |
