Nope. I still have them in a shoe box somewhere lol.

I have one framed. I acutally have a hat, hockey puck, Bobby Orr Rookie card (not THE official rookie card, but a rookie card type one) and my photo with him.

What if your present was all the Victoria's Secret models offering to sit on your face, one by one?

Would you still say no??

Honestly, just get me a card. Christmas/holiday gifts are a hollow gesture anyway since they come with a reciprocal expectation (i.e. guilt). Which means that I've effectively paid $500 of my own money for that PS3, which I consider to be a total waste.

Sometimes people are able to provide some service (furniture assembly / home renovations have been a big one for me this year), and that's good too. Some people take a group of friends out for a nice meal or drinks, which is also a nice gesture, and has the added benefit of being able to do the majority of your "Christmas shopping" within the span of a few hours.

Everything else pretty much sucks, by virtue of the fact that I'd either buy it for myself, in which case I already have it, or wouldn't, in which case it ultimately ends up being a waste of my money.

Yeah, I know, bah humbug and all that crap, but does nobody realize that the only people who actually benefit from this nonsense, even in the most obscure emotional/metaphysical sense, are the retailers and tax collectors?

For sure. Every time I see those 'best dad ever' Best Buy commercials, I want to throw out my TV. What has it come to?

Spend some time and enjoy a good meal with family and friends.

On that note, I want an Asus EEE PC. :D :D :D
