spooky. last night on diagnosis murder some kid died cos a medical insurance company wouldn't sort out the claim quick enough & then the mother sued the hospital and the likes. But since dick van dyke was there, the hospital didn't have to pay & the company only got a 200'000 dollar fine for their part in it.

yeah, it's xmas, there's not much on telly :p

this is why i no longer sell insurance. This country needs a govt sponsored health care plan and coverage for everyone. This country care more about a War of nothing more than it does taking care of its own citizens and their health. The USA Im moving to Canada!

Well, the problem is insurance coverage, not the healthcare itself. The U.S. healthcare system is the most technically advanced in the world.

yeh, such a sad state of affairs.

Sicko really opened my eyes on this one. Whether you agree with or like Michael Moore or not, it's worth watching.

There's been reports of people who had sufficient coverage who have been denied on technicalities because the insurer deliberately looked for a way out of paying up.

lol. once you learn a bit about it, Canadian health care isn't something awesome either.

Since when do hospitals not perform operations based upon if the insurance company will or will not pay, especially if life/death is on the line?

For the record, it's illegal for a hospital to turn away a patient based upon their ability to pay.

Why didn't they perform the surgery anyway? The debt is nothing compared to the girls life. Although I think Cigna was horrendous for not having their act together in giving a timely response, the surgery should have been performed anyway.
