Well, it may be because celebrities such as musicians and actors have a huge impact on the world in general. If you think about how much revenue and profits and jobs are created from the entertainment business compared to the 1000s of people who are in worse conditions, then you can see why the death of a celebrity is much more publicized to the general public.
I'm not saying that I agree with that, but that's just how the world works! |

Truth be told, I felt sad at first, then thought about family deaths, John O Keefe (google that name, and if you dont know, shame on you, lol), and the way how life is in general. And then that quickly put things into perspective for me. Personally, I can relate to all the responses on here, the sorrow, the humour, the shock, etc.
On another note, the speculation regarding Ledger's death is a reminder to this 'community' to dance safe and know your limits.. a similar fate could easily happen to a few on here.

OH NOES!!! Not getting your sympathy would be absolutely devastating.
Havent you heard the saying " Dont judge a person by how he went but what he did?". And what he did was to be a great entertainer whose career was really blossoming of late.
No one has to be sympathetic of someones death if they dont want to, but youd think people had better things to do than try to get a cheap pop by trying to crack a funny about it.
RIP and i agree, Dark Knight will be EPIC. |

No worries, the pics/vids were uncalled for, basically pure spectacle. I think it just got out of hand. It's as if Brittany Spears dies publically the media/public will eat it up just as they did Anna Nicole but it's not to the same pathetic extent if other celebrities like Heath die. |

If you're referring to the lolcat pic I posted, it technically was in the theme of this thread. Sorry if my cats offended anyone, but the important things I wanted to say were in writing - not pictures. |
