LOL seriously, no worries.
I don't wanna make anyone feel bad.
(taken out of this context, that pic is actually hilarious)
It's just that Heath was one of my favourite actors so it made me wince to see that on here.
Now... lets all join hands and sing kum-ba-ya :toocool: |
*Hugs* :gsmile:
As for the pic, I had it saved on my computer and could never find the right time to use it. :( |

RIP. Sucks for his daughter, and he was so damn young also.
Still...don't know if its something to 'grieve' over. It certaily is a loss, but no greater than the loss of any other life. |

no, but only those that matter or have real, true significance to us (for whatever reasons and criteria). |

I don't see where he said that at all in his post. |

there's no need to categorize people to grieve (to a small or large extent) over their death really
for me, it's the fact that he's so damn young, and had a great acting future ahead of him |

please change the thread titled, thank you :clown:
I remember this one chick who cried when the Pope died -- that's right, a non practising Catholic chick, probably one of the biggest sinners I know
Anyways, I'm sure we'll see this debate continue the next time someone else famous dies again. I was equally mortified when Don Wittman died last week. Where's the fanfare? :p
In any case, my thoughts in the MTLTA thread is that what happened during 9/11 shook us out of this whole celebrity worship thing for a bit and got us back to what is real. I would hate for something like that to happen again to bring us all back to earth.
As mentioned earlier, I felt shock and sorrow too, but then my senses kicked in for the better :p |

Can you quote please where I may have said that in my post? You have a gift for extremes of generalization. Bravo!
I do not think that his acting prowess, nor his good looks, nor his status as a celebrity, nor his 'blossiming' carreer are worthy of grieving. His death is no more (or less for that matter) significant than the death of countless others that die of starvation, war, murder, whatever...
I am not belittling the fact that he died. It is a shame, and a loss, especially for such a young life, and even more so since he has young offspring. But Jem said it, can you really say you grieve, thus feel pain, over him the same way that you would were you to lose someone personally close to you? |
