Domesticated
I used to be rather angry at ignorant people who called Muslims terrorists and psychopaths, but on Sunday night I watched a documentary on Salman Rushdie and The Satanic Verses which has certainly changed my view of Islam somewhat (not that I now believe all Muslims are this way).

It was rather eye-opening to see thousands of seemingly innocuous citizens rallying for the death of someone who authored things that disagree with their beliefs. It's a pretty disgusting religion that condones that sort of behaviour. This was not limited to radical or extremist groups, either. Thousands of Muslims in Britain reacted the same way, and Iran's diplomat participated in a chilling interview with the BBC where he effectively called for Rushdie to be executed, all the while with a huge smile on his face.

Yeah, I think its rather obvious that not all (or even most) muslims are terrorists. From my perspective its just damned hard to get someone to blow themselves up at a school without manipulating their religious fervour. Nobody ever blew themselves up in the name of the spaghetti monster.

saw that was on, sorry i missed it.

My point was that many ignorant Westerners see Muslims as backward and savage religious zealots, not necessarily actual terrorists.

While my own interactions with conservative and friendly Muslims at work, during education and in daily life has proven to me what a furphy this view is, the Rushdie footage also proved to me how seemingly placid people can turn into highly violent and irrational beings, all in the name of Muhammad's honour. It was disquieting and makes me think the religion is not as noble as I had thought. Rather, it has made me think extremely negatively of a religion that I previously held in reasonably high regard.

These people are such pricks.

They always hand out flyers to watch dianetics for free. (this is how the reel you in. that and the free stress test)

I always get into arguements and I tell him "Scientology kills" and he screams at me. lol.

I do love religion.... it fascinates me. The peaceful ones which I am not ready to convert to. haha.

Seppuku
A month or two ago, my friend was doing some photography in Clearwater, FL and I guess didn't realize he was in the scientology complex. Some security guards came out, busted up his camera and said they'd ruin his life if he pressed charges. True story.
