How does one tell if a dj is actually playing songs as opposed to a just playing a pre-recorded set??
Are there any audible methods of determining this??, if so what would someone with an untrained ear be listening for to pick it up??
The reason i ask is some people were skeptical about whether or not a international dj (who is booked in the near future in T.O.) was actually playing when he last visited. i had made plans to attend this event and now dont seem to be as interested in going as i was prior to hearing this.
I also hope to recieve some feedback on whether or not these types of performances actually occur.

| do they jump around doing high kicks, does the set flow a little too well, do they use headphones, do the frequencies change at times while dj not in booth, do u see them changing cds, are hands in the air moments seem acted out |

none of these determine if the dj is actually playing live or prerecorded. |

I actually though for a bit that josh wink was doing that because I never saw him wearing headphones. But after i got closer it looked like he had bud earphones on... He kept changing CDs and he even trainwrecked once to.
Can you tell us who it is? |

Well only way you really can tell is if you're watching the DJs them self.
If they're playing with the EQs and you don't notice any difference that might be one tell.
Another way is listening during the transitions and watching him do it, see if anything looks irregular..
