anyone have any pictures of Space? i'm curious what it looks like from a REAL view, not the webpage photos done by a pro with a wide-angle lens. I bought my ticket for Ferry, SVD, Guetta and next to Ultra--Underworld and just being a bum on the beach thats what I'm looking forward to most the whole week....but I gotta be prepared! Someone gimme the scoop!
I wonder if they'd turn down a really hot chic in a striped polo shirt and baggy jeans, heh.. |
I wanted to see some pictures too, I'm from Belgium and I've never been to Miami, is the club so huge ?
I'm asking this because I have to choose between Space and Noctural on Thursday, better lineup at Noctural but if Space worth it why not ... |

Terrace is the best spot to hear beats in US, hands down. |

Clov, would you agree that the Standard on a good night blows away the terrace? |

Barcelona, Ibiza, London, Cancun, Acapulco, Montreal, but like I said there isnt a place in the US that can compete IMO... Nocturnal terrace is pretty good as well as Pawnshop, but they arent Space. |

No because the sound system doesn't compare. It's a much cooler spot in terms of location and setting though. Can't compete with 35th floor in the middle of downtown LA...

In any case I haven't been all over the country either, but I have to say that imo ICE in Las Vegas was one of the best clubs this country has ever seen, mostly from a sound / design standpoint. The sound quality on its dance floor was absolutely amazing. |

Nope, and I don't plan on ever going. :) I would have loved to see Sander on one of his legendary performances there but he hasn't been playing much stuff I like recently and other than him they don't really bring DJs I'd like to see in that setting... |

If you're talking about terrace alone...yeah maybe since the US just doesn't have many types of spots like that...but "best place in the US to hear beats" is quite a stretch. |

I've been to Vegas as well to Empire & Drais, love Drais, never been to the Standard, but I'm almost positive you'll be impressed with the scene/vibe at Space when the patio is jumping off from 5am until the afternoon... |

I'm talking only the Terrace... the mainfloor is average at best... not sure if its your first time, but hit it up along with Pawnshop Sunday School party if it is. |

knowing your musical preferences, 98% of the guys that spin there would not interest you....so its really the djs playing there and not the venue that's the problem. Maybe you would check out Prydz?
either way - the Space terrace is blast in the late morning when you have Morillo or Deep Dish or Sander or Howells spinning there. |

For sound, the terrace is good. For being a late party, the terrace is good. For being overpriced, overcrowded, and overrated, the terrace is good.
As for this dress code, I really would like to see if they enforce it this year for WMC. For all the $$ they need to make to pay expenses, they will pack to capacity (and over) And not everyone will be in "dress code" to do so. |
