put out a cd. John has been putting one out every year.
I would much rather there be extended periods of nothing rather than frequent spawns of Fundacion and like mix comps.
Perhaps he's just creating some dead air in order to further accentuate the arrival of Involver 2, set for release in the Fall of next never.

Tracklist looks meh. If enough layering is done, then it will sound like one continuous track. I prefer a bit more dynamacism, like peaks, troughs, and nice builds. Didn't much care for the other 3, so I will wait for reliable reviews before purchasing.
On the other hand, I'm much more interested in the following:
Pappa's comp
Pole Folder's comp
Dave Seaman's comp
Leigh Morgan's Urbantorque comp
Hernan's comp
... and many others that are due to arrive in the not-to-distant future.

yeah, i know what you mean. i personally asked him after a gig about the album. he told me may of this year(this was last october).....he said it himself that he was bad about setting deadlines. it doesn't look like he's gonna make this one either. bummer... i like the guy so much, but he sure is slacking lately.hopefully he redeems himself a lil bit in this north american tour with diggers.i guess we will see...

I agree, Digweed is one of the best mixers, but when I think of Digweed, I don't think of 4 tracks playing all together at the time. That's what I meant by sticking to what he does best. I think a well planned out mix with a solid TL would beat anything he does with Abelton. I preferred the mixing style of Vol 1 over Vol 3. But we'll see, I might be surprised.
As for Sasha's delay. Last year he had to do the soundtrack to the New Emissions Of Light DVD, start up his own record label and studio in NY and release new material for it. On top of that, his wife was expecting a child and he had to be there for his first born. Can't blame the guy for slacking a bit lately. I'd rather be patient, especially with Involver 2. He's in the studio now and has been for 2 months. After a quick tour with Digweed, he should be back in again and finishing off the album for a summer or fall release, if all goes well.

Seems a bit overkill with the layering in my opinion. I can see maybe a few tracks in the mix, but this just seems a bit much.
I personaly didn't enjoy T3 as much as I would have hoped because of how he crammed a lot of the tracks together. Don't get me wrong, he did it nicely but I much would have rather heard most of the tracks in full. So with that being said, I just don't see how this mix is going to be much different for me. Hopefully I am wrong though.

Looks like he's going to put some variety to the mix again, at last. Like I said before, vol 2 and 3 were dull and vol 1 was superb because of good tracks and variety. Now that tracklist looks interesting

Why I didn't like it was because those tracks were almost 1:1 copies of each other. Especially the last tracks of it.

I'll believe it when I see it. :stongue:
As I've said before - not only do I not think we'll ever see it, I actually hope we don't ever have Involver 2.
Sequels aren't always (and I'd argue they are often not) a good idea.

Got the podcast last night. At least the first half was amazing, banging, techy, funky house.

I just pre-ordered it. Definitely becoming more and more of a fanboy...not even sure why :p
I guess there's just fewer and fewer big name DJ's I respect these days, so I'm really supporting the ones that still keep up the quality.
As for Sasha's delays, I actually kinda like that about him. I always got the impression from Sasha that things don't come easy to him. He has good and bad nights in DJing. When he started off with Ableton, he'd really let things get messy sometimes. He's not a natural gear head or self-trained musician. But, when he really does work hard at things (Involver 1 or GU: San Fran for example) he's really tough to compete with though.
