I listened promo copy too. Holly mother of God...this is a masterpiece.
Tracks are bombs, way they are mixed/mashed up is awesome.
That trippy, histeric feeling is mind blowing. Progression during the set...everything is just - perfect!

Listened to the promo.

This is my least favorite in the series. Diggers had a good idea going with mash-ups and I'm sure he's loving the experimenting with Ableton, but I think he forgot to focus on the drive of the mix.

It's just a bunch of sounds put together. I can't really remember anything from the mix because it's TOO complicated. It's like how the epic trance producers think adding 7580983243 things into a track will make it sound better. The mixing however, is seamless.

The "vortex" John is really known for isn't there at all. Wasn't this last installment supposed to be based on peak hour madness? Only the last track has that feeling. That track is ing INSANE by the way.

Disappointed. Few stand out tracks. Maybe I need a few more listens for it to grow on me.

BTW, anyone think about playing the entire series in one sitting? Wonder what kind of ride that would be...

Well, you gave me fantastic idea ;)

i thought the mix started out really good, kinda lost me towards the middle. i think the ending was nice.

gonna check it out again on the way to work. ill give it a 7.5 for now.

.....one day later, after listening again it does sound like alot of noise(like nsadami said). i wish he didnt layer every single track. although there is talent behind this mix, it just doesn't sound too great. i give it a 6 now. sorry john, ur still my boy though.

Really, really, good . Digweed outdid himself this time. It's been on replay non-stop in the car. This is the best compilation I've heard thus far in the year. Absolutely gorgeous.

... anybody says that this is good is taking the piss. This is god-awful. Way,way too many sounds going on and too much layering. Experiment with Ableton on your own time Diggers, and get back to basics. Just a wall of sound that goes nowhere save the las 7-8 minutes. Wasn't a fan of this series to begin with, and now I outright hate it FFS. Will no be purchasing this. Saving my money for Pappa's cd and Afterhours 5. This sucks.

100% agree.

Sadly, I kinda have to agree. Although not terrible, its certainly (easily) the weakest in the series up to this point, in my eyes.

I'm kinda dissapointed tbh. :(

I dug it. Really liked the layering, although I have to say it does get a bit too busy at times. Much bigger fan of 2 and 3 but I still think this is a great cd.

Too much experiments, too much sounds, too much Ableton, no soul, no flow. Mixing is an art not only a technique. But still fan of vol.2, this is how Transitions CDs should be IMO.

Volume 2 is also my favorite in the series...that was a really solid mix start to finish.
