i was at a wedding last night so didnt get to go to the game. i just finished watching it. we ended up running over the top of the dons and no one could stop buddy. thats about it really. didnt expect us to lose and hodgey will fill the void of sewell being out with a shoulder. hopefully crawford is due back soon.
oh and buddy is saving the 10 for me :) |

i went to the game last night, and in the first half essendon played well but in the second half were a joke. i wanted ryder to stay on franklin the whole game, but for some reason fletcher went to him a couple of times and got comprehensively beaten but i thought ryder did quite well. he was competitive against franklin in the one on ones and held his own. a couple of franklins goals were cheap ones that ryder could do nothing about and the hawks delivered superbly on the lead to him as well. i reckon in years to come franklin and ryder will have some great duels, especially if essendon can get a midfield that isnt smashed at stoppages and clearances.
but yeah franklin is a freak, i had a seat right on the boundary line on the 50 metre arc and just watching him move and how quick he is to react and the fact he always keeps his feet is amazing.
oh and one other thing matthew lloyd is gone, he was played in the backline in the second half. at the end of the season he needs to give the captaincy up to either david hille or mark mcveigh and just work on his own game. |

Nice one. I would have loved to have been there for that. One of the best backs to the walls win for the Hawks in a long long time. Since we were missing Crawford, Sewell, Croad, Taylor and Bateman injured for most of the game it was a top win.
Not looking forward to the Kangas next week since they were so eful against Freo. They never play 2 shockers in a row. |

How do you beat Geelong so easily then go and play like this against Carlton? |

hawks have been poor for a month now. probably lucky to get over the line last week. maybe injuries taking their toll but they dont look like the same side they were earlier in the year.
port are finished. not tipping them for the rest of the season. |

Good work by the Meth Coke Eagles, they just played Geelong into some sensational form. :D |

your right cookie we havent been in form for the last month
injuries are starting to take there toll. 6 of our best were out and it showed. no changa and crawf to link up with through the middle, no toughness in the clearances without sewell, croad down back shores us up and simon taylor in the ruck is not my favourite player...but would have been handy.
the kangas always seem to match up well against us. full credit to them. they played well even if they did drop two players across half back. young rough and buddy need some kicking practise its starting to get a little frustrating.
its good to see some of the bottom 8 teams find some form now. it makes for some interesting tipping. im going downhill but still in the lead. i think goodes will go this week..how many lives does he have?
we really need to get a win against the eagles next friday night at the g. we'll see what happens coz then we got the swans and they have it over us as well. |
