Sasha and Diggers have played SoCal the last two NYE and will be playing Coachella Saturday, you're not going out for Norman on Friday? He's never here. |

Hmmm..what other gig should I hit them up at?
I know that 3hours at Coachella won't be enough ;) |

| based on personal experience, in the week or two before Coachella you should be able to get 1-day tickets close to face from people that can't use them for whatever reason. |

| Also just want to say that the first Delta Heavy tour kicked off in Miami (March 25th-ish) and Coachella is what...end of April? About a month. So there, theory debunked. |

Nice to see them playing a solid venue in Seattle that really hasn't been used for EDM in about three years. I have never once been to a bad show there, so I'm excited for that.
What I don't get is why they come to Seattle, drive north the next day for a gig in Vancouver, BC, then drive south the next day through Seattle for a gig in Portland. What the hell? :conf: |
Most likely goes by which promoting company is willing to pay more, as you get closer to the weekend you can attract more people and DJ's rate go up. LSC paid a good chuck of change to get AVB for a Thursday back in August and the place was PACKED! Partying on a Tuesday will be a first, for sure using a vacation day on the 23rd :p The big question is who's promoting this in Seattle??? |

They are not playing big arenas because they do not have that big room sound anymore. They are over that. They stress this in the announcement of the tour.
Do not expect them to trace any roots. I doubt they will. 2 or 3 classic/epic/progressive tracks at the end of a 2+ hour set of minimal crap is what you all are going to hear. They lost their sound and I am not buying this. I think all stops will be boring and unfufilling to hardcore/oldschool/over-the hill SnD Fans (like myself) except for the following stops:
Both Mexico Stops
Coachella
Both Miami Stops
Canada
(If and when they announce Bonnaroo Date)
This is a normal routine for them every year after WMC to book some dates. This year they did a few more. Diggerz hates Americans if you ask him. He hated every minute of Diamonds tour last year.
I am not being negative or a hater, this is an opinion formulated from following 4 Fundacion tour stops, 3 Diamonds tour, 4 Transitions tours, Digweed's NY summer stop in NY he does every year. (last year @ PACHA, 2006 @ Corbar etc.)
They have their best moments at big shows because that's where they still put effort in. This is a paycheck tour to them and the "Prozac Nation" US is easy pickins'.
My reason for posting this is not to cause a stir, but to inform the people that still hope for that magical sound SnD formed together on the DH tour. I wouldn't go and say it was the greatest US tour, but it was classic. Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Opium Garden Essential Mix on BBC, all stops were incredible on this tour, that's what made it so great. The locations on this tour are small and as they say "intimate", but it also is done this way to incorporate the newer/slower/darker sound these two have been pawning off on most of their US stops lately. I don't like it.
I am not looking to hear "Expander" or "Heaven Scent" Delta Heavy was a collection of "newest of new" sounds and tracks that blew people away. I am done listening to to this minimal bleepy-bloppy- loopy-droopy crap they play now. If that's what you like, have a blast.
As for CA stops, San Fran is the place to see SnD in Cali imho. IF reviews are good I will make the trek to SF. Reggie@Ruby always throws an excellent show with SnD, and I would expect to see that 21+ date added again, that was an unforgettable night going to both shows. I really hope it is again... |
