Your cartoon avatar, bat country location, and amusement to make fun of your country while traveling internationally do not make me respect any thought you might have to say that might be important or true. If you were old enough to go out when Sasha and Digweed were at their peak, you might have agreed with me all the way on this. From what they were to what they are now is not even close to where they should be. The stuff they are playing now is garbage beeps, bleep-bops, and loops.

Sasha = Married, bald, poor selection in music because he is not picking his selection on his own anymore. The guy is having/had a kid and his brain is on ther stuff right now. It reflects the music he is playing. He has his team select/prepare his music for him on externals for his Live program and is taking a lot of the fun out of it. I have no respect for that. From a guy who would mix amazing stuff never heard before to just finding mainstream stuff you hear too much is not impressive. His pure "melody" sound is gone. No more impressive build-ups into a sweet harmonic set exist with this guy anymore. His new label is boring and un-original, and you cannot compare it to anything else the man has done before.

Digweed = still has great moments when in the proper environment. I argued that he hates playing in America because he said that he does, plain and simple. The guy still has a great radio show, and when touring (without a CD or SnD tour) the guy will have an incredible set. But he feels no energy in America to do so. I don't blame him one bit. American parties have turned into a boring charade of commercialism in tiny nightclubs that are perfect money-making CD tour stops. So he is cashing in. Digweed still has some very impressive sets and nights out, but when playing next to someone that really is just burnt out, you can hear a world of difference in his music.

It's not a rocket-science, if you see a crowd not moving, make them move. If everyone looks like they are being brought down from the music you're playing, bring them up. Don't play the same loops for 15 minutes on Live (S) or mix the same track but a different mix into each other (D) (which is what they have been known to do recently)
That's stuff any bedroom DJ can do, and SnD used to go above and beyond.

lol that makes a lot of sense :stongue:

i don't think you realize most people have the same view on sasha as you and that it doesn't take your age for anyone who listens to his music to realize he's lost his melodic sound. i don't know anyone who thinks emfire is a step forward for the guy, but you're the first person i've heard compare him and digweed to oakenfold who just doesn't give a about anything anymore. you don't need to keep reminding us that this tour isn't delta heavy, i'm pretty sure you're the only person here whose even suggested that. we get it: you're the original gangsta of s&d! you're also a wet blanket on this entire thread. i'm sure you'll find a way to more unsolicited nostalgia down our throats with this post...

quick question for SF people. would it be worth going to SF to see S&D? how big is the venue? hows the sound system? how long is S&D's set going to be?

yes! because it ends early and there's also a get physical tour with booka shade and m.a.n.d.y one block away, and once that ends two blocks further is danny tenaglia. also, it's been a while... :) the warfield holds 2200. i can't vouch for the sound system, but the all-ages thing makes me kinda nervous. although i don't know too many candy kid crackheads that like s&d...

To llavoe.

I love when people are overcritical or think that someone has to be amazing every single time around. So wait your saying that just b/c you've been around longer than some people that magically your tastes and opinions are better than everyones? give me a ing break. I'll agree that sasha is quite boring nowadays but i have to disagree wtih your assertion on digweed. yeah he's not mind blowing or churning out quality sets every time but his sets are nothing but boring. bleeps 15 minute loops? i heard someone say the same thing about sasha at a recent concert. funny thing was i was practically in the dj booth and he was doing anything but looping for 15 minutes. not my fault you can't tell the difference when a ing song changes(not directed at you). In any case I hate when people try to impose that their opinions are for some reason superior to everyone elses.

i didnt see any candy kids at underworld/oakenfold last time at the warfeild and i think that was all ages.

sound system isnt too bad, i remember i couldnt stay in the front too long because it was just too loud while the middle was fine.

Diego,
I am not looking for every set to be amazing as you typed. I am just looking for it to be interesting. Star Spangled was the most boring set I have ever heard from the guy. If you were so close to it all, you saw Sasha apologize to Three for being completely out of it then? Three gave him a hug, and they just laughed it off. And yes, in Tampa 'twas I that said he laid down a loop (not a full track) but loop for a full 20 minutes and forced us outside where even the bartenders and bouncers were congregated and thought that a CD was stuck lol! He also went too far with the Thom Yorke crap he put into three different tracks for 15 other minutes. What is so amazing about a 20 min loop with a little something you barely notice added in every 4 or 5 min I just think a lot of the younger crowd don't notice and think that is what he's "magically" accomplishing on his maven of mystery. I do not swear on forums or belittle anyone on here, that's childish. I am merely stating an opinion, and whatever you gain from it is your opinion.

Rich, If you read my opinion on Diggerz I said he is good on his own, and it's only when paired up with Sasha that it drags... I was fortunate enough to have seen him a lot on his own last year, and when it wasn't a tour of some sort, he was great. Really great.

And they will be put in the same category as Oakenfold, sooner than you think. And I am sure when those posts come around, you 2 will be all over them agreeing and lol'ing and so on... most Euro music mags even went as far to call One+One the next SnD... People wouldn't be looking for the next of anything if there wasn't anything wrong with the first... So I am not the only one that thinks this...

Sorry for being a "wet blanket" but a lot of people that don't reply/post and just read really need to know how they have been lately. Not everyone has the time to average 5-10 posts a day on here. Nor do people really want to. Also if you look back and read, you will see a lot of others referring and even posting the old Delta Heavy dates on here. That was where I stepped in. (Now stepping out)

Oh WOW! I just had a flash back of S&D's Delta Heavy Tour in Vegas 2002! :eyes:

:D *sigh* :D
bas
Is The Warfield where the Chemical Bros. played at Love Parade last year?

rizo
nope that was the concourse
Dancing-Clown
I miss mixes like the one they did for Renaissance. Pure gold. Their set at Bonnaroo wasn't so inspiring.
