Paul Oakenfold is a douchebag..

Yup thats right, I said it. This guy is a dip, the definition of a douchebag. In some ways, up and coming new talented producers should thank him because it just makes us look/sound so much better. This guy literally does not give a about the music anymore. Here's a story for you guys. I watched him in Ultra Festival one year, his set sounded damn familiar then the previous time I went to go see the monkey face. Every track that he played (if he even DOES pretend to mix, this is another story for later) was from the same ing set before. I would call out the next tracks that would be mixed in his set because it was all the same.

Also, do you guys ever notice this ing ****** does the wierdest half ass non caring on stage? He literally spins 1 prechosen track, walks around, sits down for 5 minutes, jerks off and then repeats. What a douchebag. If you dont care anymore, then dont ing do it anymore. Oakenfold is one of those dips that just use his "star" name to pull in naive crowds, gets paid and half asses everything, not doing . One time my friend who is a manager at a big club caught this mother****** put in a premade mix cd.... and he was pretending to mix:haha: . Nights like this , monkey face does not let anyone into the dj booth. Its funny though, all of the money he rips off from people goes to his face for more plastic surgery. I wouldnt be surprised if he turns into the next michael jackson in a few years.

Now after Ultra Festival, he played at the biggest club in Asia, where I was resident dj at the time. I opened up for this asshat so me, lightning guy, oakfag, his manager were the only ones allowed in the booth and what a ing coincidence it turned out to be... THE SAME ING MIX. This worthless ****** popped in a premade mix cd.. the same one he used at ULTRA and Every other ing gig he had done that year , and went through the same motions (pretend to mix, walk around all jacked up on coke, sit down for 5 min with his back towards the crowd, rinse/repeat).

Any "top" dj in the world should be putting in effort when they are ing playing. You dont see kobe bryant half assing when the lakers play. You dont ing see Tom brady itching his nuts , walking on the field not giving a about the game. So why the does oakfag get away with this ?

I bet some people say "well tiesto does the same thing". No he doesnt you ing hater, jump on the tiesto hate bandwagon some more. Every time I have seen tiesto he ing owns the crowd and never plays the same sets over and over again. He has GREAT crowd interaction and you can tell he ing loves what he is doing.. unlike that douchebag monkey face. Hell I went to go see tiesto in LA a few times and the crowd literally went ape (I bet half of these ******s cheering on tiesto were the same ones bashing him behind the computer, jumping on the hate train):haha: .

Oakenfold. He is a ing ****** and I hope he jumps off a cliff.

Not entirely sure why this is in the Production Studio forum, though.

Well, that goes without saying. ;)

So he actually popped in a pre-made CD? Wow.

I have to say that when I saw him he was unimpressive. He played some decent tracks, but the set wasn't anything that any old local DJ couldn't have done, and he looked bored out of his mind up there.

And maybe he was so bored because he was just listening to a pre-recorded mix? :p

Assuming this is true...well yes, it'd be boring, listening to exactly the same set every night for a few months on end. Even if you do get to sit there and think what you're going to spend all your money on. I'm sure he has a great justification for playing a premixed cd. He must have, otherwise he wouldn't do it.

I used to go to a club years ago which had video cameras on all the turntables. So you had screens around the club of what the dj's hands were doing on the records and mixer, among the screens of animation, the lasers and so on. It was a nice touch, so you could always see how the sound was being manipulated. And you could see those djs worked hard, their hands always seemed to be busy. Sounds like Oakenfold wouldn't like those cameras and screens...

Just because you are a DJ does that mean you cant hate your job ?

As long as his music is great i dont care. Yes, i like his music.

I dont need to hear how much you dislike it, and how he doesnt make his music

How is that ? Im just saying i like his music, so i dont care what kind of person he is.

kopi_luwak
I personally find the 80% of his stuff very generic and boring, used to listen to his music but had to skip always 8 of 10 tunes

Kopi =o.

if oakenfold hadnt done what he did back in the glory days, you probably wouldnt be as keen on trance as you are. if anthing you should be thanking him for pushing it into the public domain.

Who cares if he is pretending to mix. the only ones who notice are the geeks who sit watching the dj all night. its not hard to change speeds on a cdj and cue up. infact, its probably harder to pretend to do it.

oakenfold is a legend and we all (as true trance fans) owe him a lot.
