second.. that at most should have been a yellow card... a tad aggressive but clearly was going for the ball..
third... yeah, that dude isnt coming back for a long long time...
it doesnt matter if your going for the ball. if you slide tackle and dont get the ball then its a foul.

He's not disputing it's a foul. He's disputing the red card. Despite the horrific result of it, he's right, it was never a red card.

It's a red card automatically cos of the height of it. Once you take your foot off the floor, you're likely to get a red, especially in the last year or so. It's obviously not the worst I've seen but I do think he should've gone. The simple fact that a tackle at that height can do such damage as we've just seen is the reason why I say that.

Bull, it's a contact sport. If the ref hadn't seen Eduardo's leg snap in two Taylor would still have been on the pitch, just like everyone else this weekend who will go onto to make a similar challenge.

My first reaction was that it was a fairly inoxious challenge, but however mistimed it may have been a straight leg slide tackle with your footb that high off the ground is serious foul play.

Yea, that angle certainly does make it look like he's come in higher.

aye, i agree with what you say about contact, but it's about it being fair, and any challenge that high is unforgivable. For example that is what c ould've happened when Essien did it to Ben Haim & Hammann within 2 weeks of each other a couple of seasons back.

Was watching this at a mates place who has tv that you can rewind and put into slow-mo. Live it was hard to tell what had happened, but replaying it you can see the bottom half of Eduardo's leg is royally ed.
Similar to what happened to Nathan Brown here:
Eduardo won't be back for a while
