It's wrong, unless you do it all at once. Then, you're just a bad-ass.

(e.g. - Stealing all of a prostitute's loot while stoned, after you just got done raping her and killing her and all people of her particular race.)

Ive always wondered why its called 'pirating'. Its hardly in the same league as boarding other people's vehicles, killing them and taking their money.

i doubt anyone would have a problem with you playing music for friends or at a house party but if you handed out burned CDs at the door, it would be a problem...It seems like playing a DVD for friends or family, they don't expect every member of your family to own it, it is intended for private viewing.
i would think it would just be considered theft...so petty if it is just a few up to grand theft for thousands of dollars worth of music.

My friend had Tiesto- Elements of Life CD in his car.. I was like 'WTF did you just paid for it? What age you live in man? All this is there on net for free.. I will show you some softwares, man dont pay for this, its like you paying for jerking yourself!'

And he said: 'Man I know its there for free and softwares you talking about... I bought it cos the album cover looks good.. chicks love it when I display it like this in my car. Its no good playing a white plain CD with Tiesto - Elements of life written over it with my marker pen! I like his face on album cover box.. and the print on CD.. its class in front of chicks'

I'm not sure i'd like to meet the girl who opens her legs because someone displays a Tiesto CD in their car. I'm guessing he doesn't get too much.:haha:

You don't have to pay for music, just as the artist doesn't have to release everything they do and just save it for live sets. So when you hear certain tracks out at an event with a good dj/producer that you absolutely must have and it isnt for sale/or illegal download, blame not paying for music. Its going to happen more and more as tons of touring artists have many bombs that will never see the light of day. Would you steal a record? ;)

I used to not really care about downloading my music for free. Much like everyone else I didn't have the money or I didn't really see the point, I always figured the artists got paid regardless. But now with a lot of artists releasing their own material on their own labels, downloading stuff for free is pretty much stealing DIRECTLY from the artist. That I have issues with. I have far too much respect for artists to just steal their work, and I would hate for the same thing to happen to me.

That being said, the only time I WILL get stuff for free is if I wouldn't normally buy it anyway...or I don't really give a about the artist :p

About 95% of my digital collection is from early 90s obscure projects and labels (great number of them are "dead" nowdays), so I'm not too worried about consequences of my downloading. I mean, I'm pretty sure that Mijk Van Dijk, Voov or Effective Force won't see any of my money if I decide to buy something from MFS catalogue (and that it'll discourage them from making new records).
