| i also have a very difficult time picking up oakenfold's lead ins and outs. isn't oakenfold amongst the top 5 DJ's to get bashed here? heh some people just like to disrespect the talented. :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: |

Oakenfold is talented, make no doubt about it. But people seem to be expecting miracles from him as he was by far the most technically gifted DJ at the end of the nineties, he could do absolutly no wrong! People say he doesn't care as much now but thats just crap, he may not be as good as he was, but he is still a mile ahead of most DJ's when it comes to mixing abilities.
And no-one should bash a DJ until they hear them live, Tijs was pretty damn good when he played Glasgow a month or so ago, and listening to other sets on-line has proved to me that he is extremely consistent. And if he didn't care so much about his music explain to me why he broke down in tears after his first big set. Maybe he was sad that he was doing something he just did not care about!!! |

people need to relize majority of all trance djs suck when it comes to technically djing......
i heard a tiesto set i dont remember what it was and i must say the mixing was horriable!!! every transition was a blop!! didnt hold the mix more then 30 sec ..... come tiesto no excuses for that ....there is an excuse for mayb one mix he is off but the whole set there is no excuse and the time tiesto put into his djing he should of mastered it down to the bone... the fact is i relized djs who also are producers usually lack in skills.... ...even pvd isnt the cleanest....
listen to pappa,sander,digweed,sasha....etc... guys like that put most trance djs to shame when it comes to technical skill.... but doesnt mean i dont like tiesto ..would love to see him no matter when.... but the fact is tiesto skills lack occasionally i know tiesto a straight edge guy when it comes to get ed up .i think.... but you see sasha on rolled out and full slaushed with alchole and that fool mixes still cleaner then majority of the trance dj.....u wonder how he does it... |

Good statement, Oakenfold is a very consistant DJ. |
oakenfold isnt that great behind the decks....... i seen him live and few mixes he didnt align the snares right ...... something u learn the first month of djing ..... and oakenfold is predictiable which is the worst thing to have on you when your a dj |

Well i've been listening to Tiesto's gatecrasher set and his mixing skills are horrible, sometimes not even waiting for 32 beats to mix 2 songs. Same thing on dutch dimension and i'm sure on many others. DJ Trainwreck Tiesto |
And I suppose you could do much better? :stongue: |

| im not dissing digweed or sasha , but ive found the kind of music they spin is much more easier to make long transitions with, then the mainly uplifting trancers taht tiesto spins |

At last, someone who knows what they are talking about. The way a lot of trance tracks are designed you will only have a 30-50 second window in which to make a smooth sounding mix. Now progressive on the other hand, you have an eternity to cue up a tune, the beats are clear, there isn't much happening in the tracks, you have an eternity to blend bass drums, highs and mids, it really is so easy with progressive tunes. Still, big respect to Digweed and Sasha as they are always consistent with their mixing. |

Yup... I find it much harder to make shorter mixes that sound good than long mixes that sound good. |
