cool, lets give it a go. Once I get it working on my end, I'll post my number.

got it in utah while i was traveling and played it a bit after long days of snowboarding. had a great time with it. my girlfriend was kicking all of our asses with pikachu and using only the wiimote. i enjoyed using peach :o

RJT: What don't you like about Subspace? I think it definitely has its moments, i.e. when it's more focused on platforming and less on the brawling aspect (ironically enough considering the game... but I am a sucker for a good 2D platformer). It just feels like it's going on forever. My brother and I are co-opping our way through it and we're only something like 54% through and it seems like we've been playing forever.

well I got it last night, and I'm not too excited about it. I played for about 30 mins then lost interest. Soooo much hype for this game and its not even that great. It is fun to play with friends, but lack of good moves is killing it for me. I pulled out my copy of Guilty Gear instead and had a blast playing that one.

I just think it's a really, really generic and bland platformer. It seems completely tacked on, and the fact that it doesn't seem to go anywhere drives me absolutely nuts.

I just didn't find it a decent platform experience in the least.

Totally agree. That sums it up right there... generic and does not go anywhere. Not sure if there was a US release of Guilty Gear as I have the Jap Import, but check that one out for a good arcade fighter for the Wii.

5 hours of multiplayer tonight (with 4 other peoples).

Love this game.

Peach is still godly for me. :D

Just fought 2 great boss fights in SSE, unlocked some new characters including my nom de plume, and yeah, it's definitely growing a lot more... level designs have been improving, the constant brawling being more spaced out, several tough pattern-oriented boss fights that remind me of the classic days of gaming.

game is way too slow compared to the melee. I love it for just having fun but i don't see any competitive future for it at all. Plus forgetting that I can't L cancel is pretty damn annoying lol. Their are a few pro's like PC Chris and KDJ(yes i'ma nerd and use to go to tournies for it) that have found some minor advanced techs but nothing major like l cancelling or wave dashing. I could deal with the game if it at least had L canceling but without it, its entirely too slow to be taken seriously. oh well, I had more than enough fun playing the predecessor melee at MLG events so i've grown bored of the series as it is. didn't know their was a small smash community on TA though lol.

Advanced Techniques have nothing to do with how competitive a game's future is. L-Canceling was an easy to use, obligatory button-mash, not an advanced technique, a retarded hamster could L-Cancel if you told them how. What removing it DOES do, however, is help balance the character line-up.

Wave-Dashing was a harder to pull off, game-balance ruining glitch that had no place in the game to begin with. Giving the already unbalanced character sheet an exploit for the top-tier characters to abuse just put those characters light-years ahead of the rest of the character line-up. I'm not interested in playing a game with 30 playable characters, and 4 that are capable of competing in a tournament atmosphere.

With the removal of both techniques, and L-teching while being hit is still IN, the character line-up becomes a lot more balanced, and gives competitive players many more options to choose from than Fox, Falco, Sheik, and Marth. So far it's pretty clear that Marth, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Pit, Diddy Kong, Pokemon Trainer, Olimar, Ike, Dedede, Meta Knight, Toon Link, Sheik and a whole bunch of other characters I can't even think of right now are all going to be competitive with eachother. That is a GOOD thing. Also, with wave-dashing removed, many MANY more players that were unable to compete in Melee because they weren't able to move their fingers fast enough to wave-dash properly are now going to be able to compete, which means MORE competition, not less.

The game feels a lot more like SSB64 than Melee, and that's a damn good thing as well, since I've always felt SSB64 was the better game. Oh yeah, and power characters actually knock opponents far enough away that it's WORTH using them!!! This is HUGE in the SSB community, because Speed has always, ALWAYS, (... always) trumped power in Smash Bros.

In the end, the removal of Wave-Dashing removes some of the skill from the game (which is replaced by a different skill-set, btw, not left with a giant skill-less void), but results in MORE competition because of it. If anything kills the competitive potential of Brawl, it will be the bull TRIPPING mechanic that's a pile of garbage and then some. Should have included an option to turn it off for sure.
