5.19 :: Armin Van Buuren @ Tabu, Orlando (pg. 6)

New York and Miami are not a part of this country. The rest of us have curfews and certain operating hours we can sell booze. I don't think it sucks at all - it's the way Central Florida has been for years now. So arrive early - there will be over 5 hours of music and fun - plenty of time to get your groove on!

how long will armin be spinning? trying to decide if it would be worth the drive
llavoe
6 DJs on the bill, and 5 hours of music. So four Djs are going to split 2 hours before Blake and Armin come on? Timeslots?

the thing that concerns many of us is how long the OPENING Djs will be spinning vs the main event--Armin. So many "early" shows leave the main DJ just 2 hours to play...just curious if yours will be any different, or if i should stay in cleveland and enjoy my 2 hours of Armin music 20 minutes from home the next night.
the idea of hopping to orlando/new club to see Armin is exciting, but not if its a shoooort set.

I doubt this will go all the way until 3am. Armin charges a lot of money per hour, and Jeff made it pretty clear that anything Armin wants to do on his own after 2:30 is up to him as long as the club permits it. That is why I did not count 2-3am in my calculation. Keep in mind this is a Monday night and I do not see the club staying full after 2am, which will make the club close early.

It is on Armins Rider that he will play 3 hours. He has an opening DJ Blake that I believe is getting 2 hours. There are 2 rooms of sound - so that leaves 1 of our local djs for the main room - and the rest will probably be playing the front room.

Time slots are not set in stone - and I will post a schedule as soon as we get it approved!

Actually we would push it if it thins out.. Orlando has a strict policy that a nightclub must be CLEARED of all patrons at 3am - you can lose your liquor license if not.. Thats a cool $450,000 for a liquor license these days.. nobody is willing to risk that :)

just curious...why can't you just stop selling alcohol at a certain time...then that cures the issue and the DJ can play as long as he wishes...and if anyone is lame enough to say they wouldn't stay to dance without buying booze, LAME. just lame guys. haha

the liquor liscense is attached to the building - and with that comes certain laws.. one is that you are closed by 3am.. Orlando used to "Rave out" years and years ago (edge, firestone, ahhz, etc) and because of that these laws were put in place to curb drug use and crime (hides from the bottles being thrown at that statement). Its been a good 10+ years since those laws were put on the books.
