There's a few different recipes for it, the simplest way I can think of is:

1 shot of gin
1 splash of pine apple juice
1 splash of lime juice
dash of grenadine

shake in a shaker with ice pour it out in a sling glass (those tall straight glasses with ice)

top with a donut (1/2 shot) (pouring a circle with a spout from the bottle) of cherry brandy/cherry liqueur

You can say that about almost any hard alcohol. I'd actually use vodka instead of gin for medicinal purposes - I think it's cleaner.

It's all about good Polish Spirytus 95%

My g.f is trying to sell me on Gin, but to me it tastes like pine needles ... i like more sweet drinks (almost girly) what is good to mix with gin besides tonic ?

If you find Gin tastes like pine then you need to go with a better gin. Try Beefeater, Bombay Saphire or my personal favorit Tanqueray. There are better ones out there but anything better then tanqueray is going to cost you a lot more and it's really a deminishing rate of return at that level.

Personally, I've always liked it best neat or with ginger ale.

Beefeater tastes exactly like pine? I took a shot of that, and regretted it after. Horrible taste.

Hmm, I never got pine from Beefeater, perhaps your pallet is more refined. Try Tanqueray.
