I can work with whatever is available... in terms of liquor: vodka, champagne, rum, whiskey AND/OR mix: pop, juice, soda water, chocolate milk... the beautiful art of COMMUNAL making!! lol <3 ;):):D:D:D

YES! :)

on the other hand though, G&T w/lime, mojitos and martinis are also high on my list. You can never forget the red wine either!

buy some tanqueray, chill it, drink cold with different mixes on the side.

If you still don't like it, I guess I'll take the rest off your hands for ya.

Oh I’ve tried Gin and I think the last time I drank it I ruined it for me. While living at 317 Cam(pholg)asked me if I want to get drunk, obviously I said yes without thinking twice. There was a catch though .... he had a 26er of Gin (the blue bottle stuff Bombay I think was) and the triple shot glasses that jenny(lopi) got for me and him in Cuba... the deal was is I can drink as much as I want in a shot for shot round robin game with no mix and no chaser .... it sucked so much but I’m a champ and I endured the pain.... but I haven't drank Gin since I just can't stand the taste....

So Patrick I’m an trying to kill the taste of Gin all together :toothless

I hate to say it, but Zentac is right.

But also in reply to Zen.. I have been complaining about the lack of gin in the house for about a month now and when we do have liquor around it's usually vodka, so as much as Peter hates gin, he's still trying to find a way to enjoy it with me. :) I think the point is that he doesn't want to taste it as much as possible. :D heh.. And apparently he really actually just hates the taste of gin... But then again, I used to be totally against gin myself and now I love it!

So maybe the suggestion of buying a decent bottle of it and experimenting with it isn't such a bad idea.. hmmm

I'm guilty of loving gin and tonic with lemon, but not in large quantities. If I'm drinking a lot it rye and coke or rye and ginger.

pretty much my taste in mix drinks. though i generally don't like most rye except crown royal (wiser's will do in a pinch)

gin... you drink it to inhale the flavour...

btw, I like Bombay Sapphire, but I get the feeling that there are better gin out there. Theresa, recommendations?

edina, when are you going to tie me down and force feed me slivo? ;)

Peter, as with all liquor, Gin is an aquired taste. The first time I had scotch I thought it was the most vile beverage ever, now I love it. The key is to keep trying it, after a while you'll learn to like it, and eventually you'll learn to appreciate all the nuances of it.

I think it's more of a case of finding the one you like.. but that's sort of inherently stated anyway.

If you haven't tried Hendrick's yet, I highly recommend it.
Hendrick's is excellent on its own with a bit of ice, or in a martini with the suggested garnish of cucumber. I wouldn't recommend the lemon/lime combination with this particular gin personally, I find it tends to ruin the flavour of the alcohol itself. But to each his own.
