View this Thread in Original format breakawayj I need to grab some gear to record sets......I've heard M-Audio Torq Conectiv is my best option but there has to be something cheaper isn't there??? Check out your soundcard and the apps your comp came with because you may have a basic recording app already available. Torq is not exactly what youre looking for. Its more of a device for mixing on your comp. What you need is something like the M Audio audiophile USB. This sells for under $2oo i believe. And it should come with all the software (protools) you need to record. But i could be mistaken about that. Just make sure that whatever you buy comes with the software required to record your mixes. Filter by you’re operating system & under the license option choose “free” Im sure you'll find something there Yohan Ensure your soundcard has RCA input. If not you may have to buy one. I use iKEY... The basic version had some overheating issues but the deluxe version I got works fine. Uses RCA cable and usb key for recording.
