will trance ever make a comeback?

i mean, in the days of the early 2000s and late 90s, trance was absolutely booming, it was saturated in the media, featured in films like transpotting and human traffic etc

do u reckon it'll make a comeback anytime soon? or even in the near future?

tbh i dont think it will, its kinda gone and past, but the nostalgia still gets me about trance music and listening to it now, i can relate to the 'being off ur on pills or whatnot' attitude towards it lol

its still great music none the less :gsmile:

im sure it will in some way just like house has come around again.

Trends are cyclical. Just look at fashion, art, and other music genres. It'll come back in some form or another.

I don't recall Trance ever having been saturated, at least not to a significant extent. On that note, I don't find Trance today being any more or less integrated into mainstream media than it was circa 1999 or 2000 (though perhaps I'm just not looking hard enough).

I think we should stop worrying that trance wont come back... Infact, i believe trance should be dead right now, so it will get a fresh new start later on. So, yes i am sure it will come back in the future. But until then............. there is house

It already is back in a kind of way, there are loads of techno and house tracks with very trancy elements nowadays.
I don't think we'll see a comeback of the 140 bpm uplifting stuff as that has been completely milked out and killed the last couple of years but melodic and atmospheric dance music is growing pretty big imo.

God, I hope not..

Trance elements are great, but 140bpm; IMO is left for dead.... long past my tastes now.. best left in the 90's with all the ing speed freaks.

the small comeback it had circa 2005-2006 is now dead. But yes, I predict a trance comeback, not in the "tiesto-esque" epic crap trance though

when labels start becoming picky of the astic releases that get put out.

when anyone and everyone ISN'T a producer.

when anyone and everyone stops their fake ass radio shows like we actually listen to them.

+1

I think this is one of the largest culprits in terms of ty songs polluting the genre. That combined with the lack of quality control on the labels part.
