lol.. I love it -- first some people used to whine about Tiesto always being at the same venue over the years (Docks) -- now they whine about it not being solely 19+. (even if they can drink! wtf)
It's nice to have it on CNE grounds - considering that it was one of those CNE 'all-ages' raves that was my first big party. There were very few that cared that it was all ages then since a big part of the experience was being at a new venue that wasn't a club.
Diversity & choice is good -- it's only fair to offer those under 19 the option of at least experiencing a large scale EDM event since they'll be the ones in the clubs in a few years. Look at that science centre 'rave' over the weekend for example - it may not be your cup of tea but respect those for whose it is.
It's ok to share the fun with the under 19+ crowd instead of keeping EDM under lock and key as if you're Gollum in Lord of the Rings calling it your 'precious' and "Mine Mine Mine!". :stongue: |

It's nice to see Tiesto actually doing a concert in Toronto, and not a club event. Every time Tiesto came to Toronto previously it was a club event that was usually rammed, with the exception of his first one or two times performing in the city. Ricoh is a perfect venue for Tiesto as it won't be too packed and it will allow for a completely different experience than a club can provide.

Tiesto is not a legend yet....he is well on his way but he is no legend yet.....there are very few DJs that IMO have reached legendary status....Tiesto has not been around long enough to be a legend. |
Sorry, but I beg to differ. Considering that he played for 200,000 people at a free event in Brazil, and considering all that he has done for trance and for electronic music in general I would say he's already achieved "legend" status. |

I haven't seen my fallen hero :D since December of 2006. I was thoroughly unimpressed with his set then and even more unimpressed with all the tards that were present. I spent most of my time at the back. His Elements of Life CD was garbage and I don't even listen to his music anymore.
All ages? Over at 3am? tickets in the 50-80 dollar range? Are you ing kidding me? I was looking on that facebook group and saw so many high schoolers that have joined...I wonder what the demographics of Tiesto's fanbase is now? Anyway, I'm sure it will be fun for people who like Tiesto's output but it's just not for me anymore.
I suppose I should change my avatar on here but damn that cd was and still is such sweet . |

Playing for 200,000 people doesn't make you a legend....I believe he will be someone to consider as a legend at some point.....he has been able to cross some boundries that other DJs never thought to even try to cross......but I still don't believe a legend can be built in such a short period of time....I think the word legend and for that matter the term classic are thrown around too easily. IMO there are maybe a handful of legends in EDM.
Calling Tiesto a legend at this point in his career is like putting Sidney Crosby in the Hockey Hall of Fame. |

If it was a Conway Twitty and it was all ages they'd be there, like when we were 18 anything we could hitup and party with an older crowd we would...i would anyways
In above post someone mentioned Tiesto's accomplishments....does everyone forget he opened the Olympics during the Parade of Athletes in 2000...A ing trance dj opened the first modern Olympics held in Greece EVER, that breaks barriers and is a massive accomplishment IMO.
They didn't call u2,pavorotti or anyother worldly notable they called...Ti-Es-To
(insert homosexual comments that will ensue)
